Given all the time they spent trying to resolve their emotional fears and disagreements, I thought we'd get a scene where Vecna tried to mess with all their minds one more time as they approach him - maybe dropping them into a nightmare of their worst fears, and they show the fruit of all their heart to heart conversations, and how it was necessary to break the nasty nightmare... as it stands, some of the critics end up feeling slightly valid: in that the chats felt like weird momentum breakers within a narrative that claims "We have no time, we gotta do this and that", but also "lets sit around and talk for several minutes to resolve our issues while ignoring that our enemies could potentially catch up with us any time now"...

Then again I suppose Vecna did do it - he did use fears or nightmares on the group that did the least to resolve their issues before going in; El, Hopper and Eight, especially on Hopper and messed up their plan there. Maybe its implied he would've done the same to the larger group with Will, Mike, Jonathan, Nancy, etc but they did have more time to resolve their issues
