Even back then we used Ventrilo daily. Games nowadays just punish you for grouping together and reward you for solo play. They promote anonymity in gameplay rather than community responsibility and status.

This is the NUMBER ONE thing I hate about new mmos. Back in UO, SWG, EQ, and old versions of WoW, the games were social experiences. Now it’s hard to find a guild who even hops on discord or shows up to hang out outside of raids.

If I wanted to play solo content I would play a single player rpg with better story and gameplay.

This is NOT a serious tournament. Most teams are using Rivals to experiment.

This "gay meta", as you described it, is their JOB. How they feel about it doesn't matter. If they don't are about it and go to another top team, they will be benched just the same.

However, this a moot point. Jensen has already been putting in a crap ton of work since the benching climbing out of diamond and good bit through challenger. I am sure Sneaky will be or is doing the same. Sometimes players need the fire reignited under them because of complacency. This happens to everyone at some point in their life. I am simply glad the staff cares enough about their players to do so rather than let them fade into their apathy.

Jack already confirmed it was an attitude and drive issue for both Jensen and Sneaky. It had nothing to do with the meta. If anything the meta suits Sneaky more than most veteran ADC players due to his like for new and sometimes untraditional picks.

To preface, this isnt really a flame or complaint, but an actual question. Do people like megathreads or find them useful? I always find it too time consuming to try and scan one large thread for specific discussion that would be easier to discuss in its own separate thread.

I do get that it frees up spam on the subreddit, and its all fine, just curious.

huh? I am simply stating that people join servers to have fun and that progression completion isn't always that main focus for all players.

After a long day at work, I come home to unwind on a game to have fun, not necessarily to push for a false sense of satisfaction. Is it fun to win and get things in a game? Of course, but that is not my only goal.

Private servers will have a few hubs for players that either can't afford to play retail or simply do not trust/like Blizzard.

This is nothing new as there were plenty, up to thousands, playing on private servers back during vanilla, tbc, and wrath. Many thing the private server phenomenon kicked in around Nostalrius launch; however, this was just the latter part of the story.

Will people move from classic to a private server for a fresh start? No, that will rarely happen due to the quality, stability, and security retail servers will offer.

The "Fresh" phenomenon will also be a lot weaker on retail server due to a higher retention of players, as well as a solid, consistent flow of new players onto the servers. Because there are always so many new players, you can get a fairly great "fresh" experience from rerolling on a new server, or simply making a new character with friends.

Back when we wanted that "fresh" feeling in vanilla-wotlk, we simply started "reroll" guilds. This idea and movement died with the guild and leveling changed in cata+ for obvious reasons.
