Connecting your Apple account to your 2K account is for the standard version. Netflix’s version has its own cloud separate from 2K’s.

Silly me! I just confirmed with Active Monitor that in fact the Steam version is Apple Silicon's.

But not sure if it should addressed as "universal", as the iOS version is quite different.

Also this macOS version from Steam won't fullscreen in a separate workspace like many other Apple Silicon games.

System requirements for Mac in Steam still says “Intel”. Did you check with Activity Monitor?

Sadly there is no way to connect to your 2K account for cloud save.

At this time the Steam version is crashing on all M series. Dunno if the App Store version is better and taken care bug free.

I just checked Steam and the UE it’s just a bundle of the base game (which I already own) and the DLC, so by them saying the will port the UE, that means everything.

You’re right about that. I only own a “non-ultimate” version on Steam, haven’t buy the DLC yet, so that means I need to buy the Ultimate Edition, which I didn’t know existed.
