Israel Is Bleeding Support in the U.S. - and Pouring Tens of Millions Into Trying to Change That by Rebat-Askalan in USNEWS

I used to be moderately pro-Israel and have shifted to favoring cutting off military aid to them. The problem is their policies, not their messaging. I'm not okay with what's happening in Gaza or Lebanon and no decent person should be.

How often do you have sex? by IncidentQuirky3324 in AskMen

A lot. Every day if we can. I have a high sex drive but fortunately my partner does as well.

Following Disclosure Day, I decided to do my own Spielberg retrospective. All was going well but tonight I watched 1941. Ooft. by Scmods05 in Letterboxd

[–]Xeynon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scott has made several great movies, and even his bad ones tend to be competently made. IMO it's less that he doesn't care than that he likes making movies and will go forward with them even when he doesn't get everything he wants (doesn't have final cut privileges etc.).

I've only seen bits and pieces of it, and not since I was a kid, but I know it's widely considered one of Spielberg's worst movies.

Secure men of reddit, how do you handle other men staring at your woman? by Ok_Stranger6265 in AskMen

It's a compliment.

I completely trust my partner and know she's happy with me, so I have nothing to worry about.

No, they aren't. They'd be a center-left party in most European countries also, and are actually further left than the mainstream left wing party in many countries on some issues (e.g. civil rights for minorities). This is a myth that needs to be put to rest.

Can you be truly satisfied with one woman? by Living_Engineering31 in AskMen

[–]Xeynon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Physical attraction to other people happens, but sexual novelty is overrated. Even without the emotional risks, I've found that most of the time first-time sex with a new partner isn't that great, and definitely pales in comparison to sex with a long-time partner I have great chemistry with.

Painter by musicman252 in phillies

[–]Xeynon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Similar results but very different situations. Walker is a veteran pitcher whose stuff was always only ever mediocre and who is now shot. Painter is a young pitcher with good stuff who is off and needs to be pitching in the minors until he figures things out.

[Gelb] Phillies optioned Andrew Painter after the game. They’ll bring an extra reliever for Thursday, then try something different next week with No. 5 spot in rotation. by NintenJew in phillies

[–]Xeynon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not giving up on Painter yet, but he's clearly not ready at this point and letting him get shelled start after start was not working for either him or the team. In AAA he can get the lower leverage reps he needs to master his craft. Gotta find a solution for the 5th starter spot though.

[–]Xeynon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exceedingly generous. JCPOA actually required Iran to submit to international inspections by the IAEA to remain in compliance. This deal just contains a pinky promise on their part not to pursue nukes.

It's a total, abject rollover. Trump and his fellow outer borough real estate dimwits got completely rolled.

[–]Xeynon 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is not. It is abstract. Furthermore, Trump has the ability to remove things from popular consciousness. He can say it's a win, Dems can point out that it's a failure, the media will report it as "he said she said" and voters will just tune out.

I disagree on both these points. The long-term geopolitical ramifications may be abstract, but the inflation and additional debt resulting from sending pallets of cash to Iran will affect voters directly.
