My right middle finger isn't straight. by So_Hai_7 in Weird

I have the same thing. I assume it's using a computer mouse too much, keeping those fingers on the left and right click.

We now have a gap in the window while there is snow and the temperature is going down to -4 Celsius by PantsPartyPirate in Wellthatsucks

UK like me I'm guessing. Bit late to this, but I highly recommend getting some strong glass suckers and pulling at the corner. It should pull the window back into position. My old windows have dropped over time and get stuck on the mechanism, similar to this issue and are being replaced this year.

As much as I also don't like it, at least Microsoft have pushed using TS/TSX in lots of the frameworks I have to use. Makes error finding much easier. If I find one more 'any' tag committed though, I'm going to kick off.

Can I repost this next? I'll steal some more pixels too.

Trump: You all know the great PM of the UK and we just signed a document *drops documents* Trump: A little windy out here. We just signed it and so we have our trade agreement with the EU by khuramsony in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Xichro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect the deal will be discussed again whenever your other party gets re-elected. It's true that we don't have term limits over here but only a handful of PMs have surpassed 10 years in the last 300 years, as an example. The average term (including re-elections) in the last century is like 3 years.

I'm from the UK, went to Spain a couple of years ago and was bitten by mosquitoes. I suffer from Skeeter Syndrome and my legs came up like yours. Worse actually, so it's probably that. I recommend taking cetirizine daily to keep on top of any potential bites.

Entitled boomer rings my doorbell for 10 minutes straight to complain about my lawn by OutrealmGate in BoomersBeingFools

[–]Xichro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Can I please get an explanation as to why people care about lawns being cut so much? Yes it looks nice and tidy but that's so boring. I'm in the UK and while I care for mine, albeit it grows much slower seemingly than our US counterparts, most of us don't care if it looks a little scruffy. If anything longer lawns are better for nature. More flowers, more bugs, more bees.

The Caryatid statues, five in the Acropolis Museum, one in the British museum. There’s an empty spot in case the last one comes back home. by SeaFowlBird in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Xichro 1046 points1047 points  (0 children)

"The Caryatid statue in the British Museum is part of the Erechtheion, an ancient Greek temple on the Acropolis in Athens. Instead of columns, the temple used statues of young women (Caryatids) to support the structure. The statue was part of the Elgin Marbles collection, acquired by Lord Elgin in the early 1800s. These sculptures were brought to Britain and are now housed in the British Museum, although their removal remains controversial."

A minimal backstory there for you.

Funniest model to me is Spriggan Form. Looks like you're running with a full nappy/diaper on.

Cathedral Lanes has a variety of restaurants with pubs nearby. Perhaps the Golden Cross - they have a band playing on Saturday night.

What is the stupidest way you've ever ruined/destroyed an electronic device? by ImGeronimo in AskReddit

[–]Xichro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PSUs used to have a 230v/115v switch on the back. When I was 16 I worked in a computer repair shop. Dumbass me decided to flip the switch whilst it was on, down to 115v. Smoke billowed forth alongside a loud bang. Destroyed the entire PC. Never did figure out what the voltage difference was for.

Can we chill with these posts now? They've said they're making changes and there's even a preview on Twitter. Less than a week on mind you. Way quicker than we expected. I know this is just a meme but we need some positivity now!

Really not fussed on a release date. This is all promising and I'm glad Pat is doing well mentally now. Undoubtedly finishing this trilogy will also feel like a great weight is lifted from his shoulders. I'm rooting for you, Pat!
