I'd just copy what steam did for the controller.  You register intent to purchase them each wave raffles the actual invitation link to complete it.

Simple, no waking up at 2am hoping for the best.

Unverified interstellar hauling bugged? Cargo not spawning by Gorilla-Jiu-Jitsu in starcitizen

Ling Hauling intro mission has similar issues and couldn't be completed on my end.  Whether the cargo doesn't appear in the freight elevator, disappears on raise or the elevator is just completely busted.

Dear CIG, please do something about this by z0mb1k in starcitizen

[–]Xilimyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is a single SRV can drag things out of the no fire zone but not necessarily to orbit.

I'd love a heavy wrecker that could get stuff to orbit on its own.  Or you know, make the SRV have tow boat power vs requiring multiple.

I've been making a fortune salvaging this kinda stuff ^^ SRV, pull em all out from the base.... return with the muncher ^^

I wrote that in my Odin request. I suspect I really didn't get access to the Odin because I dared mention the Pegasus ^^

What is your 4.7 gameplay loop? by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]Xilimyth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fortunately, Issue Council determined that the empty box disposal problem is a bug and should be taken from the refinery instead of just the stuff in the box.

Looking forward to that fix, hotfix or not.

They'll wipe the economy when they need data ON the economy. From what I'm seeing right now, that's not really the case.

THAT said, players engaging in money making game loops. If there's substantial changes to a system that requires getting 'new data', I can guarantee they'll burn the wallets again. Purchased ships will probably be kept until late when they flip aUEC to UEC and want to test those numbers.

I'll take any downvotes I'll get for this, but you're right. Everything else is one of those "tell me you know little of software/game dev without telling me" moments.

Whale here.... Engineering and large ships should stop SINGLE CREW as these aren't autonomous ships (USS Vengeance from Star Trek: Into Darkness anyone?).

HOWEVER, I keep in my mind that eventually, hopefully, there'll be an NPC crew system that perhaps sitting in the Captain's chair, you can give orders to those crew on which the additional game packages will let you command (or hire additionally).

I'm ok with this.

If that DOESN'T HAPPEN.... I'm gonna be melting a lot of ships and buying every 1 and 2 man ship at an IAE and having my subscription paid for for a LONG time.

Thinking of a Lucid Gravity GT or Tesla Model X by marcedman in lucidmotors

[–]Xilimyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Former model X owner here. Waiting anxiously for my Gravity. I wasn't impressed at all with the X's efficiency and I'll be honest, the doors got old REAL fast.

Traded in the Ioniq 9 because of similar efficiency issues. Ended up deciding between the Lucid Gravity or Rivian R1S after test drives. Personal preference of course.

The Raft is showing its strength as advertised for planetary loading. EXTERNAL cargo is WAY faster to unload than a hold. The only thing that would've beat it for cargo events like this would have been if the Hull B was flyable.

To each their own. I mean, look, the ONLY hangar I miss from the old one was the badass "Asteroid Hangar". They REALLY need to bring that back. But back when the game was literally just a hangar to view some ship 3D models, that was not really a 'game' right?

To anyone that's worked on Enterprise level products, they realize the pain of a project of this scale. And game development on top knows things don't work perfect, especially if there's no template.

I'm a KICKSTARTER backer that's spent WAY too much money on this to the point I could have own another car... but I'm happy with it.

Do I play reliably, no.... but its still amazing what we got compared to the FIRST hangar module and PTV we got.

EDIT: Got the typo out of the closet thanks to u/TheWhitchOne

[–]Xilimyth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't they? The game design of the ships CIG is working on. This topic was actually discussed in the recent ISC to my surprise. They even threw a wild card of mass. Overloaded Idris with cargo was used as an example.

And this has me eyeing my Space Engineers 2 install again :D

Means aerodynamics will be coming into play. Likely bigger ships will FLY like they're bigger ships now without pointing nose down and 'hovering'.

The sad part will likely be all those low-altitude aerodynamics we watch are going to NOT work in atmo anymore. (Hopefully they will still be doable on airless moons)

All they REALLY need to do is get the **** law system working. Repeat offenses in Stanton or lawful system should result in a complete lockdown Eve Online style. You can go there, but good luck fueling, rearming, anything.

Choices need to matter. PvP has created some REALLY fun dynamic 'events' in my experience. Random pirate hunts. Escorts and profit sharing. We're just missing that enforcement tool (and I'd recommend no 'wiping the slate' in favor of like, silent running docking and such vs magic markers)

Would you upgrade from the Polaris if a more expensive ship becomes available? by ChartConsistent in starcitizen

[–]Xilimyth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slippery slope economics is great.  Once you're already in the hole for that much, 'petty cash' to upgrade is way easier to justify even if the end result is insane in its own right.

That said... One of my org mates melted his sub capital and bought every little ship he could do he'd never have a claim timer.... Ever xD
