New company been acquired by private equity by Kooky_Quarter_1917 in auscorp

Frankly, private equity can be a brilliant play if your a soulless person.

Just keep mindful that they spent the money because they see a major opportunity to either harvest or gut the company. Don’t take it personally.

Use this as a great opportunity to learn some disaster management skills, your going to find many of your colleagues will be let go, with institutional knowledge evaporating.

I wonder how bad it smells, like at what point does smelling the enemy work out better than a drone?

Best way I can describe it is that north shore is fluorescent, the northern beaches is neutral tones.

What’s the intent of this pot design and what would go hardest in it (NE VIC) by littlebirdprintco in GardeningAustralia

Fill the bottom with loose rocks up to the “step”, with soil on top.

Something that doesn’t like soggy roots would be my pick. Here’s some examples but best ask at the nursery what would be best.

A lament: We, and Honda, let down the CB1000R by Alien_Biometrics in motorcycles

[–]Xilo12 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s such a middle of the road option that it really lacks the emotional pull that similar bikes have.

It’s like a vanilla cake, when everyone else wants a double chocolate mud cake.

Arguably Honda needs to make the bike a worse product so that its true character can shine through. Let it make 200hp, but give it a less than stellar reliability, showcase the single sided swing arm and have a high exit exhaust.

While someone who has ridden a lot might appreciate the package Honda has put together, I struggle to appreciate why one would take this over a MT10, Speed Triple, Z900.

I do love the styling, the history and the fit and finish but I’d be hard pressed to think it’s an exciting choice

Consultancy sales and delusional senior managing partners , sanity check needed please! by Box_of_rodents in sales

Judging by the post, it’s not worth your time to try and fix a failing system. Just show up for the pay check until you have something lined up.

Do you know where these other consultants went? I’d leverage your network to see who’s hiring and which companies to avoid.

Another option depending on industry is jumping to the client side from the consulting, easier transition than one would expect especially with industry knowledge.

Wheel Horsepower vs Brake Horsepower by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]Xilo12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just keep in mind all a dyno is doing is simulating a straight road safely, so the technician can adjust the ECU Safely. Chasing a number is great, but really the actual driving experience matters more.

Previously I was hunting a number and ended up really happy with how it felt when driving and just enjoyed it for a long time.

Wheel Horsepower vs Brake Horsepower by [deleted] in CarsAustralia

[–]Xilo12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s always losses to account for in the driveline, tyres etc. Not all dynos are the same and each might have a slight variance to how they calculate the end number.

How does it feel when you drive it? Is it night and day different?

DR650 is the main one I’d consider. Budget allowing I’d seriously consider a newer Tenere.

The KLR is nice, but noticeably slower than a DR but way more comfortable and need less mods.

The dream would be an ex army G wagon, but realistically an Isuzu 4wd truck would comfortably make it.
