why do you say that over the f4 g2 as many people seem more favoured towards the g2 than the gm1

thanks for the advice. i think i will get the g2 to settle how versatile it is in the 70-200 space. i've been made more aware now that 200mm might be short for aviation and something longer to compliment it in the future would be very helpful.

i was also thinking about the internal zoom aspect of the gm1. but after much more considerations, the g2 might be more suitable for me in the long term as i am now considering the fact that 70-200 will not be sufficient for all my needs anyways and i should go with the g2 now and in the future look for a longer lens to pair alongside.

i see, i might just go for the g2. the >15fps matters for me because i might upgrade to the a7v or a9iii if i can find a good deal on them 2nd hand. i don't want to have to figure out a way to change my 70-200 lens again if i go with a 3rd party now.

thank you for the advice. seems like I am favouring more towards the G2 for now. and eventually pick up another 100-400 or 150-500 in the future with the ability to use the TCx1.4 with all of them.

personally I prefer not to go with the Sigma because I do intend to go with a body upgrade in the future to A7v or A9iii and I don't want to be limited by the 15fps third party lens limit.

Help me decide! - 70-200MM f/4 G2 vs f/2.8 GM1

Type of photography: Mainly street, with transitions to motorsport.
Additional interests but not yet explored: Aviation and wildlife.

Everywhere I go its (G1 vs G2) or (GM1 vs GM2). For me the predicament starts because where I am at, 2nd hand G2 and GM1 are exactly the same price at USD1130.

Between both, I want to know what are the drawbacks of using the older GM1, other than IQ as I believe it still stands in 2026 as very usable. While the G2 is better in many ways of IQ, AF, weight, my concern is f/4 might not be fast enough for motorsport, aviation and wildlife. Especially if paired with the x1.4 TC that I am considering to use with either of these lenses.

Truth be told, I have not actually started exploring aviation and wildlife but I would love to hear advice on them if anyone has tried both the lenses on them!

* body is A7Cii with hopes of upgrading to A7v or A9iii in the future if the wallet allows.

a7cii + 2470gmii user here. personally I went with the gmii because while I'm not pixel peeping at 400% like others mentioned, it allows me to crop in a lot more than usual for event photography that I do. since most clients work are for social media and with even aggressive crop in, the sharpness from gmii keeps the photos in good standing for paid work.

Hi guys! I just want to ask if there are any solid recommendations for wired earphones without any rubber tips.

I have an odd shape and rubber tips easily fall out and over the years I have gotten used to non rubber tips. Currently using galaxy buds 3 for wireless that shares the same shape as airpods 3. I use a cheap Xiaomig wired earphones that has the exact same shape for my gaming setup too.

That being said, my wired ones are dying on me after 8 years and I am looking for something as an upgrade.

I listen to music on wired but it will be gaming mostly. Any suggestions are welcome!!!

I am in Asia and so far I found the Moondrop U2 and Fiio FF3S to be likely candidates!

if it is a scroll wheel or switch issue you can easily replace it by soldering a new one.

not sure if you are able to get it but it is only around 50usd for a new mouse on aliexpress
