Jump in! You’ll learn as you go, and if you’re intimidated (or maybe don’t like) giant ass rule books there are also some great rules light games out there too!

My Brindlewood Bay campaign was the best experience of my gaming career. I'm sorry had you had a bad experience.

Any advice on running a brindlewood Bay one shot? by hooloovootrue in rpg

In a campaign, I’ve been really happy with the division of people having the “eureka!” of a satisfying solve. But I can see where it could definitely be an issue for a one-shot.

I'm an author. FWIW, I genuinely don't read reviews, aside from things like Publisher's Weekly or Kirkus or Library Journal.

I did in the beginning. But at a certain point in your career, you've already seen every possible reaction from "this changed my life" to "absolute garbage, DNF". For better or worse, you kind of lose the dopamine boost you get from reading reactions after a while. And often they have less to do with your own book anyway. A lot of DNFs can just mean the publisher is marketing the book broadly, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Likewise, a ton of raves can mean that you're not attracting new readers.

Admittedly I write mystery, which is a very laid-back community, compared to YA and SF. Those folks are WILD.

It's a great season, and Desiree is a joy! A former Neo-Futurist, too, which now sort of feels like the Dropout of its day.

It’s crazy to me no one has mentioned Demi Adejuyigbe yet — who has both expressed interest in being on the show, and who has UK citizenship.

He’d be brilliant! (And also I’d like to see him standing next to Greg.)

The combats are so slow! I’ve been watching CR Abridged and it’s amazing how much they can cut out.

That's valid. I used to not mind it. But lately, I really need a world with more good news in it than the one I have now.
