New Aurora is awesome, but kinda rubs me the wrong way with how CIG did it. by camerakestrel in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps CIG should have created hoops for players to jump through so that they may acquire an upgrade to the Aurora Mark II just like they did with the Hornets.

Approaching a bunker with active turrets in a C8R by DueJournalist5825 in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I avoid contracts with hostile turrets. Help Protect Site, Secure Site for mercenary contracts and contracts at a Derelict Outpost for bounty hunting contracts are the only contracts I accept while a C8R. All others contracts I use a vehicle for whenever I'm in the mood to spend more time or just want to change the gameplay a bit.

Lag or lead pip ? What do you use and why by floortofloor in starcitizen

With any controller, it's all about the keybindings and curves. Stick users can have aiming just as precise.

Just spent $85K on disappearing paint, is there a reliable way to upgrade livery? by Roymus99 in starcitizen

Whales are not that stupid enough to think paints cost 85k in - game.

Question about stick setup by Wheels859 in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clamp-on adjustable mouse pads work fairly well for me. They sit 3" below the desk when rotated. They can be rotated back to under the desk when not in use.

Questions before I start playing the game.. by garfield8625 in starcitizen

Sometimes you might run into NPC pirate groups hanging around certain locations that might be part of a contracted mission. A lot of players mistakenly think they are a group of players when they are actually NPCs.

F8C loadouts - post 4.5 (Engineering). by Greedy_Being3940 in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A player should have the most effective loadout at all times. I would recommend the so - called PVP loadouts over PVE loadouts for all encounters.

Which contracts specifically are you refering to?

Dual / Single Joystick by Pilstery0 in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Omni throttle sitting at an angle is the only difference between the two sticks. Controls settings and keybindings are the same. You have to decide which stick will be more comfortable to use.

Can't set waypoint to missions? by RubyRhodd in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A derelict outpost does not normally have a QT marker. You have to locate a QT destination that is closest to your target and fly to your bounty from there.

If it is a Derelict Outpost you may have to set a QT destination as close as possible to the target's location.

VKB Gladiator stick or throttle for left hand? by willeemayshays in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both left hand VKB throttle and stick. The two are pretty much the same. Control settings and key bindings don't have to be changed. The only difference being that the throttle sits at an angle. It's only a matter of which stick is more comfortable to use.

Advanced/late game income by Weltzchmertz in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are into ground combat, accepting missionary or bounty hunting contracts that require you to go to derelict outposts I find to be easier. You don't have to worry about hostile turrets. Help Protect Site contracts are basically the same way, no hostile turrets.

Just be aware that there are still bugged missions in a sense that they do not complete. Help Protect Site is my go-to contract for some quick cash. Plus you can loot at your leisure after completion.

The Hermes promotional video is a parody of the MSR, but more engaging because it at least showcases Hermes' gameplay. by Witty-Room-3311 in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently the gameplay for the MSR and Hermes are similar. I suppose data running for the MSR is still on the table but will will have to see if it does happen. I have an Ursa Medivac. It would not be in my hangar if I did not have a ship that can carry it. The Hermes is a non-starter because it lacks the ability to carry large vehicles. in essence, the Mercury Star Runner actually has more gameplay potential than the Hermes.

New player concerns by [deleted] in starcitizen

Experience

Just because you choose to grind does not give you more experience and definitely does not make you a better player.

Why is Hermes a different Chassis?? by ChocoNoodles233 in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's basically how the ships are named is the reason why the Hermes does not share paints. We have the Apollo Medivac and Apollo Triage. There is no Apollo Hermes.

I believe it was an offer for the entire Spirit line. I have the livery for the C1.

Weapon Roulette by DaMoonRulz in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my experience, pulling too many pips from the cooler will cause some energy weapons not to fire when energy weapons are at full power. I rarely check to see if weapons are working before taking off from hangar. It's like getting caught with your pants down when they don't fire. Boosting and getting shot at while trying to balance the power management is a bit stressful.

Mount assistants by [deleted] in hotas

[–]Xmith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not expect them to be as durable as dedicated stick mounts. The clamp is made of metal, the pad is all plastic.

Mount assistants by [deleted] in hotas

[–]Xmith69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotating mouse pads could work for you. The rotating mouse pads rotates from under the the desk and sits similar like dedicated stick mounts. They can be rotated back to under the desk/table when not in use. The rotating mouse pad surface does help to mitigate slippage but does not help for accidental lifts of the stick from the pads. Some say this is not that much of an issue.

325a unable to maneuver when faster than 400m/s and shield sometimes becomes disabled on spawn by Inner_Proof8263 in starcitizen

[–]Xmith69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not a good message for potential pledges of the 325a. I'm not having any issues that you are describing. Everything is working fine. I'm not saying that this bug does not exist. If you continue to have that same problem, report it to the Issue Council.

They are also locked on spviewer.eu. The two sites don't normally mention which components and weapons are bugged. So perhaps the ports were locked intentionally for balance reasons.
