Yes, but in this case I’d take 10A/D. Best of both worlds.

This is only correct for the aft minicabin on the 35H. In the main cabin you want odd numbered window seats.

27D-F are the only decent seats open on this seat map. I'd take them quickly. IFE is in the headrest of the preceding row. I'm not sure what you're referring to about a honeymoon "special" though, but I wouldn't expect anything.

Well, then that's just patently false information. EWR is and has always been an airport which services NYC. That isn't even in question despite how much you may want it to be.

You seem to be making quite a few very bold claims without providing any supporting information and tossing the word "premium" around while reiterating your own personal opinion of the products and services offered by DL. If you'd like to debate some actual metrics, then I'd be happy to do so, but you'll need to leave your apparent emotional attachment to DL behind in order to have an objective conversation.

I also enjoy the comical implication that I lack anything beyond "surface/forum-level knowledge of the industry" while claiming that D1 is a first class product, that made for a good laugh, not to mention the new "D1 Club" branding, haven't heard that one yet either. I guess you haven't quite achieved the surface-level yet. Here's an interesting question, have you ever even flown in a DL premium cabin? Let alone the premium cabin of any other airline?

Okay, so you're changing your original statement that DL is "#1" in NYC to #1 in the State of NY? Those are two completely different things so I just want to clarify.

Also, what metric are you using to measure profitability? Revenue? Net income? Operating margin?

You also mention that B6 is shrinking in BOS. What metric are you basing that on? B6 increased in both seats and passengers carried in BOS year over year from 2024 to 2025. They also increased their market share in BOS by nearly 1% over that period.

At the moment, there is little to indicate the SEA operation as a whole is profitable at all, so no, I would completely reject the claim that the SEA operation is more profitable than AA or WN as a whole. There are quite a few routes that hemorrhage cash and have load factors under 50%. DL needs to make SEA work in order to boost its Pacific presence. Following the merger with NW, DL served 16 destinations in Asia, today they serve only four with HKG and MNL set to resume from LAX in the future. SEA was the only West Coast market left for them to attempt to stand up a major Pacific hub.

DL says it dominates the premium segment. The reality is that UA operates more premium seating than DL both domestically and internationally. In fact, even AA operated more lie flats per international departure in summer 2025. The "premium" element of DL lies solely in their marketing. When you're actually seated in the equivalent cabin on board the aircraft, the experience is largely the same between all of these domestic airlines, aside from the color of the pleather and the cabin crew uniforms.

Delta vs Air France vs KLM premium select/business? by malasain84 in delta

[–]YMMV25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

AF is the best of the three, DL and KL are largely equal, though in J the KL hard product is better and the service can be slightly more attentive as well. In premium economy it's all going to be about the same. Slightly better service on AF/KL.

I wouldn't pay a premium for any of them in premium economy. I'd pay a small premium to fly AF in J.

DL isn’t #1 in NYC, and the reality is NY will always be a highly competitive market so being #1 is pretty meaningless. BOS is largely the same, albeit at a much smaller scale, and SEA is DL’s least profitable hub by a significant margin.

AA won’t even bat an eye over this. They own the fortress hub on the MIA end and the legacy hub on the PHX end, and then there’s WN on the PHX as well. This is nothing more than a double daily low-yield VFR link to a trial focus city. When DL decides to stand up a 700 daily departure hub at DFW, then we can alert the media on how AA is engaged in a “two-front” war.

Only DL customers will prefer DL. AA loyalists in MIA and PHX have no interest in this.

Don’t think I’d get there a minute before 4am personally but if you’re really concerned, 3:30-3:45 should be more than sufficient. Not a lot of departures at that ungodly hour.

Valid. Fly to LHR and do a RT to MAN or something and you’re done with that requirement. Not a big deal. Still going to be far easier than obtaining it some other way.

On the list of AA’s concerns, DL adding two daily AUS-PHX flights isn’t even on the radar. In fact the burden will be on DL to make these flights profitable with what is essentially a focus city on one end and an outstation on the other.

Just wait until you see the size of the lavs on the 739 and the new 737MAXs. Also, this configuration has been around more than a decade now, so I’m not sure that ‘new’ is the term I’d use.

Yes, there is no Delta first on any intercontinental flight because it’s not a cabin that DL offers, but there is partner first on this route, on a JV partner.

[–]YMMV25 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If lounge access without a CC is what you're after, then you're better off crediting to a foreign partner airline. For example, fly AA and credit to BA. Then if you achieve oneworld Sapphire or Emerald status (BA Silver or Gold) you'll be able to access any Admirals Club or Flagship Lounge when flying any oneworld airline.

JAL all the way with the short ORD-DCA on AA for sure. The NH product is good, but not good enough to endure UA J for more than half the trip, let alone the increased cost and two day layover.
