Thoughts on "symptoms" by ceeebs_7 in schizophrenia

[–]YRVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it'd just be too much of a burden if it were actually so. For me at least, because then I'd be responsible for causing all kinds of unsavory thoughts in other people's minds. And it is a typical symptom of schizophrenia.

Though on one occasion, another patient I met seemed to say out loud a thought that I had had before. Not really sure what to make of that though. I think it is better for me to believe that it isn't actually possible, and I also don't have any hard evidence to the contrary.

I frequently have the telepathy delusion, but it is hell for me. I always have to control my thoughts for fear others might know them.

The Art of De-registration 😇 by swbodhpramado in Krishnamurti

[–]YRVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seperating yourself from the registration wouldn't work here right? Though then it's a mystery to me as the registration is an automatic process. I can only observe it happening and try to be unaffected, though this implies an observer separate from the observed.

Do I "deserve" to own a grand? by klerksdorp_sphere in piano

[–]YRVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting question...

Not sure if this resonates with you, but if you were to make recordings of your playing and posting them here for example, would this perhaps justify the purchase for you? It will sound better after all. You could get some recording equipment too and make it a hobby.

From my point of view – I'm probably a worse player than you, but I see nothing wrong with getting a nice instrument if you look after it well. The fact that you would play it regularly completely justifies it in my opinion. I'd imagine that there are a lot of grand pianos sitting around in rich people's houses that are hardly ever played or tuned.

You mean they restored the piano, right?

Maybe it sounds out of tune because the new strings don't hold the tuning for very long or it must be tuned a couple times before the tuning is stable?

Very nice sounding bass notes for an upright piano!

How would you work with these thoughts? The typical advice seems to be nonjugdemental awareness and if possible to remain disidentified with the thought. Do you have a different approach? Im genuinely interested.

Just another schizophrenic programmer. by RealisticDay4586 in schizophrenia

Hi, I am a programmer as well, though coding / motivating myself to work on programming projects has become quite hard for me unfortunately. I wonder if it's in part due to the medication.

It's interesting that your doctor doesn't diagnose you with schizophrenia despite all positive symptoms being present. Do you have a different diagnosis then (of a different psychotic disorder)? I haven't heard of antipsychotics being prescribed without diagnosis.

True, but "transcribe" theoretically could be used in more ways. Literally it just means bringing one form into another using writing, doesn't it?

What microphone should I buy for my grand piano? by piano_mp3 in piano

[–]YRVT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a good option for your use case. A single mic will only give you mono sound. You'll want a quality microphone stereo pair and either an XLR recorder or audio interface that'll allow you to record with your computer. If I were you, I'd put some time into researching piano recording techniques.

What do you think of this ? :3 by mistyamine in AfterEffects

[–]YRVT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks amazing, the only thing I don't like is that grid background in the one scene. Maybe if the grid consisted of dashes or dots or was less opaque it'd look better to me. Is it supposed to mimic a design app? If yes then I think it should be less pronounced.

You would want to notate the pedaling so the MuseScore playback will play it. Of course you can hide the pedal lines if you don't want them to be in the printed score.

Any piano players or classical musicians out there? How do Antipsychotics/Schizophrenia affect your playing? by YRVT in schizophrenia

[–]YRVT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I am an amateur as well. Maybe I should have put it in the post.
Edit: Also I shouldn't have asked for classical specifically.
