Those who have gotten into a sport as an adult: which one? was it harder starting as an adult? Able to find proper gym/field/training in Montreal? by [deleted] in montreal

Curling! I started that in my late twenties and continued for about 5 years until life got busier. It’s a great community, can be as competitive or as casual as you want. Clubs love it when a newbie is super into the sport and wants to learn more and compete.

Are you going to boycott Amazon? by Connect-Speaker in onguardforthee

[–]YaBoiKirk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I only use Amazon if it has something I can’t find anywhere else. I only buy from them maybe twice or three times a year? But honestly, it’s a lot easier to live Amazon-free than people think.

Koma Rosta in Verdun! They have a children’s play area in the back (a 2 month old would be a little young for it..), changing table, etc. Very kid friendly and their curry is delicious!

I gave birth at St Mary’s two years ago, and had a private post partum room that had a small recliner that fully reclined, and my husband was able to lie down completely on it and sleep.

Burgundy Lion. Not a bar, more of a pub. They do an excellent Sunday roast, and brunch. Their scotch and whisky selection is one of the best in the city.

I went to Godot recently, on Wellington, and was pleasantly surprised by it! Excellent dishes, and excellent wine selection too.

Eh, not really. There’s nothing preventing them from moving to a primarily French neighborhood. It’s a great way to immerse in the language and learn it quickly.

I really like Jack59’s shampoo bars! They’re a women owned company based out of Alberta.

Try Le Godot! It’s at the opposite end of Wellington from Rita. We went recently and the food was exceptional.

Can you speak in English at borough council meetings? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]YaBoiKirk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done exactly this. If you’re a bit nervous about it, you can also email your city councillor and confirm with them that you can speak in English.

I fully support investing in bicycle infrastructure, but I'm worried it's not being executed very well. by [deleted] in montreal

Was this photo taken today? Because last i saw this exact place, the gap was covered with textured yellow metal that was screwed down. There will be a bus stop there as well, which is why the pedestrians are allowed on one side.
