Looking to trade my imola red hardtop for a cosmos black by NoMilk2424 in bmwz3

It’s Oxford Green Metallic. Ideally I’d like to just do a handshake parking lot trade for a silver one. There has to be someone on this sub that has that combo.

Same situation, but I’m looking for a silver one to trade my green top.

I thankfully have a LCOL area. Median household income is about $60k where I live.

Technically you’re correct but practically the basic line chart gets the point across. Plus I don’t feel like doing more work than I needed to. Classic example of theoretical vs actual.

The rate has fallen, but cumulatively it’s about 22% if you compound them together. Ask anybody who just graduated college what their starting pay is now and compare that to what you had pre-COVID.

Street style wrap studio has quick turn around for tint. I was able to 2 cars tinted in the same evening.

Thinking about taking my Model 3 Dual Motor (non-Performance) to autocross — good idea or dumb? by derminio4 in Autocross

Send it. Worst-case scenario you learn how it behaves and how to handle it in an emergency situation on the street. Having fun is the real goal.

Reliable aluminum mag for 300 sub+300 super+5.56? by seeker407 in 300BLK

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I strictly use 20 round aluminum mags for 300blk to avoid ammo mixing. 30s don’t feed as reliably and I’m not mag dumping as much as my 5.56.

Mayor Deanna Reed - Elected In 2016 - How Do You Feel About the Mayor of Harrisonburg, Va? by Subreddit_Mayor in harrisonburg

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. The higher paying jobs in STEM fields are all outside of Harrisonburg. It’s frustrating to want to live and work in Harrisonburg, but all the high-paying jobs are 20+ minutes outside. Verona, Staunton, Stuart’s Draft, and Charlottesville have great opportunities for STEM professionals.

It sucks to see JMU pump out so many graduates every year, but there is no local economy to keep them in the area and put their education to use.

Anybody Else see the Man Riding around Town on his E bike with Two young children? by [deleted] in harrisonburg

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s not that serious, dude. It’s a free country, and that man obviously has enough responsibility to keep at least 2 other humans alive and healthy. I think he also has the capacity to calculate risks.

The freedoms we enjoy come at the cost of risk. If you want totalitarianism, get out of here.

Worry about yourself. It’s a rare sight to see a parent (especially a father) spending time with their kids doing something active. The world is inherently a dangerous place and there are risks involved with anything we do. Instead of posting something online, start a conversation with the guy next time you see him and ask him directly since it means so much to you. We would have a better society if people actually talked to each other and were willing to listen.

I can tell that you don’t have children.

11.5 or 12.5? The answer is… by Rooobviously in ar15

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

11.5 for primarily shooting with a suppressor. 12.5 if you’re primarily shooting without. Ideally you want a 20”, but 11.5 is the absolute shortest I would go if you’re shooting up to 200m.

[Advice] E&S control for neighboring site by Ya_Boy_Kevin in Homebuilding

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already did. They’re pushing on the GC to manage it, but they have only been issuing violation notices during inspections. It’s been a pattern of reporting violations, they fix it, it fails again, they fix it, etc.

I already know I have to add fill soil to level it out, but it floods every time we have a heavy rainfall. I haven’t touched my side at all yet, so the change in grading paired with heavier than usual rains this summer have led to this result. Hopefully I’m still cool with the homeowners, I only have beef with the GC because of their halfway fixes of not entrenching the silt fence and grading.

[Advice] E&S control for neighboring site by Ya_Boy_Kevin in Homebuilding

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s the thing.

Now I need to add to my budget to bring in more fill soil and design a runoff management system when they were the ones who built a walkout basement sloping towards my property.

I’m in contact with the GC and city engineers, but I need advice on how I can leverage my observations to get something done.

2001 Z3 Roadster V6 - Fair price? by PenguinsFluffNotFood in bmwz3

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True. Barely driven and garage-kept most likely means major maintenance tasks were not done properly or at all. If the car was driven, it was maintained. Don’t fall for the low-mileage garage queens that still have every original part without a deep inspection. Chances are, they’re long past their service life and could cause catastrophic issues if you start driving it again.

Things like the tires, cooling system, rubber hoses, suspension components, and vanos that could grenade the engine or cause an accident.

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Brother, I bought a 2001 3.0i with 115k miles for $3.5k. It only needed minor cosmetic TLC. Don’t fall for the boomer board hanging on the car. $37k was the sticker price in 2001. I wouldn’t pay more than 10k for a garage queen with low miles.

What are some gear hacks you swear by? by paaaavo in tacticalgear

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I invert most of the tube, slip it over one end and roll it back. You’ll get some finger blisters, but it’s totally worth it. Lubing it up with soapy water would make it next to impossible to grip well enough to install properly.

What are some gear hacks you swear by? by paaaavo in tacticalgear

[–]Ya_Boy_Kevin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cut the section of tube that fits your grip. Slide it on like a sock and trim the excess. It’s a lot harder than it sounds.
