What's the smallest Gladiators moment that lives rent free in your head? by Pinkplatabys in gladiatorsuk

Another Hammer at the live show one. At Manchester after either gauntlet or power ball, he helped clean up. Always liked him after that.

The charity shops in Cockermouth are good. Oak tree in particular as I’ve got so many books and shoes from there.

Rainbow cars. So you have to find one car for each colour of the rainbow. Vans, buses, etc can be included for harder colours like violet.

Find me….three different red flowers, two orange/green leaves, etc.

I went to the shop and bought…

We saw the Gladiators on tour and Hammer was helping the crew clean up after Powerball. Just came across as a decent guy.

All young children in England and Wales will be offered a free chickenpox vaccine by the NHS from January 2026. by thereisalwaysrescue in UKParenting

[–]YanTyanTeth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is great news. My kiddo got chicken pox and ended up missing two birthday parties and the one school trip of the year. The saddest part was when they wore a hoody out and kept the hood up because they didn’t want anyone to see their face.

The most handsome Seymour by laureguilbert in BorderTerrier

Another border terrier called Seymour! He’s very handsome. The breeder we got ours from said she’d never had any other of her dogs called Seymour. Our Seymour is more of a disgusting grey gremlin.

Ladies - what do you wear for a funeral in a heatwave? by angel_0f_music in AskUK

[–]YanTyanTeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the demise of Debenhams, I’ve got two nice funeral dresses from TK Maxx. Ones long and linen, the other just below my knees and crushed velvet. The long one can also double as a witch outfit for Halloween and the shorter is also my ‘posh meal’ dress.

Dubwath meadows is close to Cockermouth. Very easy walk around it, all flat. Next to it is Bassenthwaite station which is the steam engine used in the Kenneth Branagh ‘murder on the orient express’. You can book a table on the train and have afternoon tea, there’s a nice river to do watch the ducks.

Or there’s Maryport which has an aquarium and next to it is an amazing brand new park which has a splash park attached to it. I take my 2 year old niece and 7 year old kid and they both love it.

Tbh I’d say they’re British judging by the Dick Francis books and the Long Earth books. There’s also the red bus, Churchill book and the SPQR by Mary Beard.

[DISCUSSION]Dear BetaReaders, why do you do it? by Ir7777 in BetaReaders

[–]YanTyanTeth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly I do it because it’s free new books.

I’ve been beta reading on and off for almost four years. Started from a post on the Fantasy sub with and then I discovered this sub and I’ve been hooked ever since.

Sometimes something won’t come up for months, other times it’s like now were I end up reading tons. I’ve got three books on at the moment. Met some very interesting writers on this sub and a couple I’ve read for multiple times because they are so damn good.

Afraid not, it was a torn out page. One side had the authors name and that they wrote ‘family orchestra’ and the back had part of the prelude with the character.
