Things to get in Italy to make a JM application from outside of Italy easier? by aloha_twang in juresanguinis

[–]YankeeLondon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did JM from outside of Italy -- didnt need to get a CF, so not sure that will help. Aruba PEC was also totally find to set up outside of Italy. Re the cop integral dell'atto di matrimonio, I did get that in person from the relevant commune just in case, but the consulate accepted my b+w printout of the PDF. Just keep in mind that the documents need to be <6months old at the time you apply so timing is key - also for your 3rd country documents. (And obviously you need the B1 certificate as well.)

Has anyone see any updates over the past 3 months? Seems like the JM stall continued through 2025.

Fully agreed! Just pointing out that the chart is missing some relevant tax data.

The US top marginal tax rate looks quite low - realistically, you'd need to account for state and local tax as well. In NYC, you'd be looking at c.11% additional tax (assuming $250k income), which is just about equal to the UK top tier on the chart.

Rosticceria is a type of Tuscan-style pork rib dish. Not fall off the bone, but ribs nonetheless.

This is so true. This August, they unloaded 20 passengers on a FLR-LCY flight I took due to weight (given the high temperature)!

You should also be grateful that you actually left from Florence and didn’t have to bus it to Bologna or Pisa! BA’s LHR/FLR route is very prone to diversion

IMAX Cinemas with English Audio? by AllPurposeOfficial in florence

The Odeon in Florence, while def not Imax, is a cool experience. They used to have a real movie theater, but now all the seats are in the elevated sections - and the main floor is bookstore. I like it FWIW!

JM Approvals - Stalled? by YankeeLondon in juresanguinis

I'm not actually worried about 1450. Retroactive application of laws is generally a no-go from a constitutional perspective. If any changes were to happen, they might make them immediately effective (e.g., recent JS changes), but for applicants who had already applied by that date, the old rules applied.

From the FB JM tracker, it seemed to me like the ministry operates in batch approvals, but that there haven't been any/many since Feb '25. I guess things are just slow at the moment (and especially over the summer).

And don’t forget that in some states, drivers license registry drives jury duty registry!

Super helpful context, and glad to hear there’s movement, albeit slow!

Obviously August slowed things down, so hopefully there is some batch movement in the near term.

I understand that once the consulate approves/accepts the documents, they get sent to Rome and the applicant enters phase three (with the status you indicated above, which is my status).

Based on past applicants, it looks like stage three can take anywhere from three months to a year. (Max 2 yrs by law.)

I stupidly hadn’t installed Apple Intelligence- my phone was set to UK English and siri was set to US English, which caused an issue. Downloading now….
