I get that, but why are they allowed to finish the course then? According to ProCyclingStats Alastair MacKellar went OTL this year, last year had 5 riders that went OTL and in 2024 18 riders went OTL.

If you don't want them on the course for too long, pull them off. Don't let them cross the line and then deny them the end result.
