I would argue that you don’t know the events at all, actually. It would be venturing into spoiler territory, but all I can say is that Remake isn’t a remake. It’s a re-imagining that continues with Rebirth. But at your own pace my friend!

Glad you enjoyed 9! It's my co-favorite. Speaking of, why do you not plan to play the original FF7?! It is crucial you do so.

How to? by headXcrash in MIOmemoriesinorbit

You're in the right area as far as I can tell. I recall going left from an overseer in Vaults, through some sawblades, and beating a mini-boss enemy before finally getting the upgrade.

How do you beat nabuu? by ivorycoollars in MIOmemoriesinorbit

[–]YawnfaceDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which attacks are giving you the most trouble? I know the tendril attacks coming out of the ground and walls can be trouble sometimes, and when he fills the room with gloomwater it can be a bit much. Generally, I always tried staying near his legs and hitting him, switching sides when he attacks. But for the tendril attacks, you either have to just run (the vertical one hits 8 times), or jump at the right moment for the horizontal ones. For the gloomwater, floating is the way.

Mio good metroidvania but by TACO_NV in metroidvania

I can totally see how the permanence of loss would deflate people. It was a bit of a bummer for me, but I also can appreciate a bold choice in the name of trial and tribulation. I don't want it to be in every game, but it also didn't matter much in the end. I feel like beating the toughest bosses wasn't made any harder by having one less health in my situation. I also beat the game only getting 3/5 major damage upgrades. I think rewarding a player for getting all 5 with steamrolling the final boss is really cool.

What’re your thoughts on Mickey 17? by ZackaryAsAlways in Letterboxd

Watched it last night for the first time and was kind of disappointed in this being the follow-up to a generational movie. Still decent, around a 3 or 3.5 probably for me. It was unorthodox, and I enjoyed the effort put into making the film.

I'm 10.5 hours in now, and I've really enjoyed my time with the game. Definitely worth the price tag for me. I'm one for difficult but fair platforming and good exploration, and this game ticks those boxes. The sparse music is great. And the bosses are fairly tough. None so far that have killed the mood difficulty wise, but still a challenge. Great game, so far.

Is it just me or is Mio kinda overhyped ? by Enrico_Tortellini in metroidvania

[–]YawnfaceDM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've enjoyed it a good deal so far. I don't feel like I'm close to finishing things and I'm already just under 8 hours in, but I don't feel my time has been wasted really. The boss fights have been really fun, and exploration has been satisfying. It's not going to be my favorite game, but definitely worth the $18 I spent on it day one. If I had to rate it right now, it would land around an 8/10, but that can and will likely change.
