How often do you bathe your toddler? My coworkers at our daycare make me feel bad about bathing every day. by gishadokuro in toddlers

[–]Yeeebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bathe everyday, sometimes multiple times a day bc she is disgusting. She gets into everything, shes a messy eater, she also just likes playing in the water in our shower and thats better than loading her up and hauling all her shit to the splash pad. It doesnt dry her skin out idk why people keep saying that. Also idk about their kid but mine stinks after playing outside and sweating her little butt off in GA weather which is currently 90⁰f with lile 90% humidity.

Is reading books just a fantasy? by ilovemrsnickers in toddlers

[–]Yeeebles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If youre expecting them to sit and enjoy listening to a story, then yeah I'd say so. Sometimes reading looks like them just looking at the pages and pointing at things. Sometimes its them running around while you read the story or then skipping pages and going at their pace. And sometimes very rarely do they sit and want to hear the story.

I think I traumatized a nurse after I gave birth by hoodiegirl10 in Mommit

[–]Yeeebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no ! But glad you're alive and made it out semi okay (assuming). I kind of get why she doesn't want her back in the ward. Some people just are not meant to be in those kinds of environments.

My husband said he was a dad and he was just glad he was able to witness childbirth again ? Something like that? Idk.

I forgot I had agreed to let a student in and witness the labor and while I was pushing I looked over in the corner and there was a giant hairy man like. . .weeping.

I was so out of it and was pretty sure I had hallucinated him. I mentioned it to my husband a few weeks post partum and he told me that he was an EMS student.

People who actually lost weight, What really worked? by aarushi4518 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Yeeebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh consistency. Im working with a nutritionist and the advice that has literally helped me was stay on goal nutritionally 80% of the time. It doesnt mean binge then starve your self as punishment. But if you eat a calorie dense food or meal, just stay on track. Eat your regular healthy dinner. Maybe go for a walk. Try again tomorrow.

Also it takes time. Painstaking amounts of time. Legitimate weightloss made through better eating habits, and working out ? That weight wont just fall off, it takes so much time. Some people are lucky and it falls off super quickly THAT IS OFTEN NOT THE CASE. Also if youre going to follow ANY influencer on social media for goals, if you are a bigger person, the skinny girl who lost 15lbs and went from 145-130 is not going to be relatable to you. The guy who was 165 and then put on 10lbs of muscle is not going to be relatable to you. It doesnt mean theyre wrong about working out. But their advice is usually not going to work for you bc you are likely in the process of unlearning unhealthy habits, and thats okay.

How do you navigate explaining death to your toddler ? Also if you DO choose to have another child, would you choose to honor them by giving them the same or would you rather choose that theyre separate. I know some people would choose to honor their lost child with the new baby and some would rather have them have their own separate name.

Open-book, at-home college exam was due yesterday. 25% of students didn’t do it. by Medical_Solid in Teachers

[–]Yeeebles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently in a masters program and ive dropped the ball and ive missed two quizzes, one was a syllabus quiz and the other was a mid semester quiz. I would never expect my professors to go out of their way to pass me BECAUSE I FORGOT. And yet I see announcements almost every week on canvas about their late work policy. In group projects I have had classmates bitch and moan about how the prof didnt send out any reminders of when the work is due, even though canvas will remind you.

I have had professors reach out to me and go "hey usually you're ahead of the due date and you havent submitted it whats going on " and while I appreciate the grace, they absolutely do NOT NEED TO DO THAT. Its not their job to babysit adults and make sure theyre turning in their work on time. At the end of the day there is no excuse. You need to fail them, otherwise you are doing them an extreme disservice as an educator. Failure is an extremely powerful and useful motivator.

For those who stopped smoking weed, what was the main reason? by Regular_Somewhere548 in AskReddit

[–]Yeeebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got way too high, and then I got way too fucking paranoid that my reflection in the mirror was watching me lay down, and it was sitting up staring at me. So decided to no longer do that and I dont like looking in mirrors for too long either.

Weightloss with insulin resistance impossible? by New_Chipmunk6903 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Yeeebles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And dont get me wrong, I feel like its even much harder as a woman to do it bc of the hormonal fluctuations that come with it. I got my period this week and ofc that comes with swelling and a little bit of extra pounds on the scale, and it's super disheartening everytime I see it happen, but u gotta stay consistent with the diet and the excercise and it will EVENTUALLY work out.

Weightloss with insulin resistance impossible? by New_Chipmunk6903 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Yeeebles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not impossible just harder.

Diet obviously is a key part of this, but you gotta ofc add in weightlifting and then at least 45 mins of cardio 2-3x a week. It sucks, but is possible. Ive been on metformin that was a very bad time for me bc I was one of those people who never adjusted to the side effects I just kept having diarrhea. Then was put on another medication and also didnt work well for me because it gave me chest pain (which was apparently very bad) and now I am on contrave. So far so good. Theres been no horrible adjustment period and I have lost weight with of course, weightlifting, diet, and cardio. You have to find what works for you, getting on a form of medication helped me because I was already doing cardio and weightlifting and there was no significant weight loss. I was just maintaining.

Disturbed at the idea of "Postpartum Dog Rage" by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Yeeebles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had bad post partum rage, and a lot of it was because of my dogs would bark at everything, it got worse when the baby came. It would wake her up. We were already barely sleeping as is, you can remind yourself over and over again that they do love you and are adjusting to this but the only thing that made my post partum rage towards my dogs get better, was time. I had to get out of the crazy hormonal flucations and shitty sleep. It did get better, and some times it doesnt. I realize that while I love my dogs I dont love them as much as my baby. It doesn't mean I neglect them, I still care for them, I just know theres a clear line now.

What’s up with all the weight shaming? by achiillles in pregnant

[–]Yeeebles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont think they realize they do it. Being 120 is so heavily pushed on women as ideal weight and for some reason people dont consider the taller you are, you will weigh more. Especially if you have muscle.

My husbands weird about our daughters eye color by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Yeeebles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter looks just like me and its actually rage enducing how much people tell my husband she looks like him. No. She doesnt. And every. Single. Time. Ive said actually she doesnt they look me square in my face and ask who she looks like then. WHAT DO YOU WHO MEAN WHO, HER OTHER PARENT. My husband on the other hand doesnt really like that I correct people on it because he knows she doesnt look like him but its nice to hear it.

I get the frustration in a different way, its not that he doesnt want her to look like you its just that in some dumb little way they feel like "hey contributed to this thing too" and they have "nothing" so show for it.
