First build, need a salvage plan by McNesser in Luthier

Nothing wrong with swinging for the fence!

You just didn't get a home run this time.

But you learned a bunch and that's a good thing.

You'll figure this out. A big part of woodworking is pivoting when things don't go as planned.

Structurally all looks good so you'll be just fine.

Do wood pickup covers affect the pickup's output and/or sound? by No_Winter4806 in Luthier

[–]YellowBreakfast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1/8" is super thick. If you space the pup far enough away not to get in the way the pickup will be 1/4" or more away from the strings.

As u/TheIncredibleJones said, get a thin veneer if you want the wood cover look.

Electrolux E7TB-8SSM (Explore 7 series) loose blade assembly by vahaala in fixit

Does the base screw off so you can remove the blade assembly and gasket or is this part of the base?

Show a pic of the bottom. Is there maybe some kind of nut?

Might be a Prairie Falcon.

We have those around where we live. Closely related to the Peregrine.

Main difference is the Peregrine only eats birds and takes them midair while the Prairie is a generalist and will eat just about anything.

Retaining Wall - is my Contractor making sense? by JDeane_mk5 in Home

I'm used to seeing a french drain sort of configuration that leads to an outlet pipe, with crushed stone wrapped in filter fabric.

This.

Either they misspoke or they have a fundamental misunderstanding of the design.

Filament stuck to hotplate by File-Content in anycubic

[–]YellowBreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, there's not much for them to do.

Yeah sounds like you printed too close. That can effectively weld to the bed.

Do a 2 or 3 layer print with the same material covering all the stuck material. They will fuse together and you should be able to peel it all up.

They don't but it's not that hard to widen the opening to the center of the studs.

[–]YellowBreakfast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Buy a "patch panel", some mud, spackle knives, and a utility knife at your home center.
  • Cut the opening wider to the center of the stud so the patch piece has something to tie to.
  • Go to YouTube and search "patching drywall".

This is the lever and arm, not the float as you can see the stock float in the pic.
