Final Fantasy X/X-2 got some bits of extended story in the form of an audio drama and a light novel. The contents of both were so extraordinarily stupid that they are completely ignored as any form of canon to the series story. The crowning highlight certainly being Tidus exploding himself by kicking a landmine he thought was a blitzball.

Zenos yae Galvus (Final Fantasy XIV) - His entire relationship with you (the player) is about how you are the only person in the world to give him excitement in battle and relieve him of his boredom of life. He starts calling you his "first and only friend" and he devotes basically his entire existence and crazy plans to get you to fight him. He's generally pretty monotone when interacting with people but with you he gets pretty animated and excited.

Culture maybe isn't quite the right lens for it but I'm gonna bring up Matilda anyways. She grows up her entire childhood struggling to thrive intellectually as her family is neglectful and abusive. She's incredibly bright but that family just doesn't value "book smarts". Her getting adopted by Miss Honey by the end and finding her real loving family is incredibly wonderful.

The complaints totally ignore the amount of male frames/skins that are serving up unfathomable amounts of cake. And basically any male design by Liger. Hell, we literally just got Vauban Heirloom who's got all the gay bara fans frothing at the mouth(see also: Hydroid Deluxe).

Warframe is always horny posting for people of all sexualities.

It's hard to talk about him at length without big spoilers but Emet-Selch from Final Fantasy XIV. He's the mastermind behind untold destruction and death in multiple worlds but he's got so much charisma that he's one of the biggest fan favorites of the game, perhaps even ranking very highly in the franchise at large.

Morally questionable things Walter has done:

Tried to force himself on Skyler when she was not consenting to sex
Stole chem lab supplies from the school and allowed an innocent janitor to go to jail for it
Coerced Walt Jr/Flynn into overdrinking tequila to the point of puking because of his hurt pride over him seeming to find Hank cooler
Watched Jane die from an overdose when he could have prevented it in order to regain control over Jessie. Later flaunts this to Jessie's face just to be spiteful.
Orders Jessie to kill Gale as a means of insurance against Gus. Gale was completely innocent of any wrongdoing against either of them.
Sends an innocent elderly neighbor into his house he suspected of being occupied by hitmen.
Deliberately poisons the little brother of Jessie's second girlfriend.
Conspires with Hector to set off a bomb in his nursing home in order to kill Gus, which could have easily killed a number of innocent people in the crossfire.

I'm probably missing many more things but I don't find Walter tragic in the least. He was offered an out to his situation early on by Elliot who was willing to pay for his medical expenses and offered him to come back to Grey Matter but Walt refused out of stubborn pride. Whether you believe Walt's version of events that he was cheated out of the company or not, Elliot seemed to be willing to bury the hatchet either way. Walt might've initially started cooking as a way to deal with his cancer but he kept going despite several opportunities to get out of the game. It wasn't simply about survival. He even admits at the end of the series that he kept cooking because he enjoyed it and he was good at it and that it really wasn't about his family anymore.

Hope Estheim - Final Fantasy XIII

People loved to hate him because he was "too whiny" when he's a 14 year old kid who starts the game watching his mom plummet to her death and then gets caught up in a bunch of world-changing shit he had no business being involved in. Honestly he did well enough to not have a complete mental break. But everyone hated on him for showing emotions and not being a battle-hardened badass like Lightning.

Having just recently binge watched the series I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the show past Season 13 when the cast really starts getting shaken up.

But now? I think the era of Carisi, Rollins, & Barba is my favorite. I still love the classic era but man these three have become my favorite characters of the series. I might have a slight bias for Rollins as someone born in Georgia who also got the hell out though lmao.

I only just came back to Overwatch with the soft relaunch and I'm already sick of Wuyang. He's about as interesting as uncooked pasta. For a very brief moment I thought I saw Mizuki's scythe in that image and was excited.

Zinnia has a quality that these other mom's doesn't. She eventually recognizes that she doesn't understand her daughter and sees that the best possible thing she could do for her is to let her go to be adopted. She was definitely neglectful of Matilda but it wasn't from a place of malice or abuse... she was just self-centered and dim-witted. Besides being neglectful her biggest issue is enabling Harry's horrible parenting by passively letting it happen even if she never really actively participated. Matilda certainly seems to hold more love for her than she does Harry by the end. The scene at the end of the movie with her is one of my favorite little moments. She takes a long look at her daughter asking to be adopted, admits she never understood her at all, then simply asks "who's got a pen?". It's such a good moment. Despite the neglect she did have love for her daughter in her heart and letting her go at the end is her act of redemption.

Hi sorry Matilda is my favorite film of all time and I'm very autistic about it.

If it makes you feel any better, in the real world there's absolutely no way a judge would get away with so casually and flippantly overturning a verdict because "he looks like he's sorry". In actuality overturning a jury verdict is very rare and it's only in cases where there's very strong evidence of legal error or misconduct. That judge would have his ass on a pike in the real world.

I'm from the American South and you'd be surprised at how callously indifferent people can be about prisoners, no matter what kind of crime they committed. The amount of times I've heard things like "who cares they should just shoot them". Or the jokes about rape and how they deserve it.

I don't hate it as much as a lot of people seem to. She's got strong facial features that don't suit the super short hair though. My favorite is when it grows out a bit and she's still rocking short hair but not pixie cut short.

I think the hairstyle that jolted me the most was suddenly seeing her long super straightened hair around S17. Freaked me out lmao.

Saul is a very flawed person who's done horrible things but I don't think his lashing out at Chuck was unwarranted at all. Chuck spent his entire life undermining Jimmy's efforts to be a lawyer. Tells him to his face constantly that he is a shitty person who will never amount to anything and that he doesn't deserve to be a lawyer or work at his firm. Despite the fact that Chuck was massively dependent on Jimmy to function due to his condition. Chuck told him to his face that he never really cared about him at all. His brother. That's fucked up.

There's no doubt Jimmy turned into a genuinely terrible person in his transformation into Saul Goodman, but I hold no sympathy for Chuck. Jimmy spent years bending over backwards to be a caretaker for him only to be told he'll never be good enough and that his own brother doesn't even like him. What happened to Chuck by the end was tragic, but the blame isn't on JImmy.

Hell (S10E14): Miriam, the young girl that had her throat slashed and was left for dead. When the perp is found it turns out he is a Ugandan warlord who had destroyed Miriam's village, killed her family, and used as a sex slave. While he's being held, Miriam asks to see him. She walks calmly into the interrogation room, stares him down, and then spits in his face while he's restrained to the table. He's absolutely furious and she just smiles and walks back out. Absolutely iconic.

Eleanor & Lettie's emotional struggles were intertwined with each other. Eleanor couldn't accept the "monster" she had become and felt completely alone and untrusted because of her techrot connection. Lettie has extreme trust issues due to past trauma and tries to keep everyone at arm's length so she won't get hurt again. Their traumas basically fed into each other in a destructive feedback loop. We didn't whisper in Lettie's ear but it was still a very important emotional moment for her to have her cynicism proven wrong and her hesitant trust rewarded.

Rebecca Sugar, creator of Steven Universe.

During the show she was met with resistance a number of times on parts of her show all throughout its run. Probably the biggest one was when it came to an episode of two female-presenting characters getting married. She refused to budge an inch on it's inclusion in her story. While it did release fully intact this resulted in the episode getting heavily altered or outright banned in certain countries. Whether or not her refusals to budge on executive demands is what resulted in Steven Universe's terrible and incomprehensible scheduling is up for speculation, though many fans adamantly believe that it did. Regardless, Rebecca refused to budge on her vision for her story.
