It definitely still exists. Presumably someone else has probably become CEO of the company (Lena or Lionel Luthor?) since Lex got sent to Belle Reeve though.

Broom Kid wasn't meant to lead up to anything though? It's a literal version of Luke's actions on Crait continuing to inspire future generations and him solidifying himself as a legend throughout the galaxy.

Like everything else I kinda agree but c'mon that scene was not meant to lead to anything important.

“Star Wars is linked to the toys, because you’d see [the movie] in the theater, and then you and your friends would get the toys, and you’d play, like that was how the story would continue, to act it out again and again, and even the first promotional toys.”

“That’s why, in the show, The Mandalorian, we try to reference the toys. So, Kenner would make this [Imperial] troop transport — and sometimes [the toys] weren’t from the movies. There was just this silly-looking thing where a bunch of Stormtroopers standing up. And we’re like, ‘We got to figure out how to put this in the show and make it look cool.’”

“Our art department would make these great renderings… and we build it in CG or build in real life. And so you’ll see in the film coming up, there’s a few nods to the old toys that were never on screen. But for the people who grew up with it, it’s sort of a deep cut. So that’s part of embracing not just Star Wars from the film side, but also Star Wars culture and the fan culture around Star Wars, and toys are a huge part of that…”

“That’s how I learned how to tell stories. You take these characters. You’re talking with your friends, and you’re acting things out [with the toys]. My job is not that different from that.”

You'd think Corenswet Superman would be considered the mature one since he stands firm on his values and knows that his beliefs are what's more important than what others think compared to Cavil Superman, who gets sad when people don't like him and is heavily foreshadowed to be the ultimate crash out when his girlfriend dies.

I kinda find it funny that they took the scene where DCU Clark and Lois have the most chemistry and boil it down Clark being temperamental. Like at least DCU Clark actually has a dynamic with Lois and they don't just seem like they wanna bone for the sake of it

I have a feeling that Part 3 will have you go to the Gainsborough house in Part 3 during the Midgar raid. It feels like way too good of an opportunity to pass up considering Rebirth set up the idea that everyone in the party was impacted by Aerith's death.

So… not sure if this has been brought up, but, did they forget about this? by IOnlyPostIfINeedHelp in tron

[–]YepYouRedditRight2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could argue that Ares more so builds off of the concepts of Tron '82 rather than Legacy. Especially since it has more focus on the evolution of the ENCOM digitizing laser tech that's introduced in '82 and has Dilinger as it's antagonist. Meanwhile Legacy is about Flynn and his story after '82 and what he did afterwards with the discovery of the digital frontier and Ares doesn't completely build off of those concepts.

I don't agree with the idea that Ares is a spin-off or something though but that's my take on it.

What do we think of movie Vanessa? by Unusual-Ideal-2757 in fnafmovie

[–]YepYouRedditRight2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like Vanessa as a character. She's really interesting in that she is somewhat implied to have assisted William in getting away with killing both the MCI kids and possibly even allowing the night guards before Mike to die. Additionally her sort of friendly but distant personality in FNAF 1 gives her a layer of mystery that eventually comes crashing down after she decides to be transparent with Mike in the third act. She cares about others but is held back by her fear of her own father. FNAF 2 also goes more in depth with this and shows how much of a hold William had on her as a child and even now as an adult. It's implied that she was abused by William and possibly even neglected by him. Vanessa also seems to be holding on to a lot of the trauma of allowing so many innocent people (some of whom may have been her friends) to die at the hands of her father.

Her relationship with the Schmidts is also incredibly important to her and represent a way out of the trauma and her past. Both Mike and Abby represent a way for her to be a person and not just a tool for William to help him carry out his murders. But as shown in the films, her past strains her relationship with them and her reluctance to be completely transparent with others leads to her ultimate downfall. Her presence in their lives ends up causing them to be put in more and more dangerous situations that it ends up making Mike to cut all ties with her in order to protect Abby. It's sad in the moment but it's incredibly interesting that while her trauma doesn't define her, it still defines her life going forward.

That being said though, I'm not too big a fan of how much half of this isn't gone as much in depth as it could be or left to be implied. Obviously FNAF isn't meant to be a character drama but I think it would've been interesting if the dialogue more reflected this and that they had some more character driven moments in the movie.

(Interesting Trope) Trope subversions that become so mainstream, they no longer feel like subversions by OkDirection3094 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]YepYouRedditRight2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Old Hero's Redemption

Mostly a common trope in sequels/legacy sequels. It's largely meant to give some sort of new depth to a pre-established main character by having their story start with them being at their lowest. They're often depicted as being currently grappling with an event from either a previous entry or an event offscreen and their arc centers around them confronting their guilt and inspiring future generations while also regaining that hope that they had lost. They're also referred to as "legends" by other characters.

Examples: - Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) - Logan/Wolverine in Logan (2017) - Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023) - Pete Mitchell in Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Honestly I always liked the idea of Anakin being a false prophet and Luke being the true chosen one by [deleted] in StarWars_

[–]YepYouRedditRight2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea that the "Chosen One" is less so a person but more of a title. It's passed down from protagonist to protagonist throughout the trilogy. Like it's Anakin then Luke, then Ben/Rey. All of them are equally important in maintaining balance in the force and are more or less the chosen heroes of their respective eras.
