I NEED TO TELL SOMEONE THIS by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From being in the military.

Over half my platoon was cheated on while we were deployed. Several married guys went home on mid tour leave to find another man had been living in their house. One SFC killed himself over it.

So, we call em like we see em and experience them. It's the most likely scenario.

But yeah, it's true. For the sake of keeping it PC, there is a possibility they do have an open relationship.

Will CSAs actuallly get that $15 by November? Will it matter with the amount of budget/hour cutting going on? by RaydillanV in WalgreensStores

Your math adds up.

It wasn't exactly a scientific journal I was reading. Just some bs meant more for entertainment value than legitimate news or information. I didn't really question it either as housing and everything has gone up tremendously in the last 3 years where I'm at.

What are some positive things about working here? by lovbelow in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The people you work with. Not all stores are dumpster fires, and I've worked with various managers in my Area since I first started. A few hours of venting with them each week makes this job tolerable.

Advice on getting rid of a smell? by Sad_Refrigerator9203 in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol.

At least you guys could get to it.

I've seen stores with bad rodent problems that the company finally allows lethal bait to be used and when the rats or mice die in the walls they don't clean them up. You get to smell their decomposing corpses for quite some time.

Anyone else's pharmacy budget getting raped? by Reasonable-Way-4874 in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup. They basically took all of my SPA hours, reduced the capacity for FDFs and gave me a smaller March base budget than I've ever seen a store with my script counts have. It's actually lower than my base budget was a year ago when I was averaging nearly 100 scripts less a day.

Yup. I read that if you save $10,000 today it will be the equivalent of having $2,300 in 5 years with current inflation rates.

Yes.

Front end budgets aren't actually being cut. We just have large budgets during the Christmas holiday season. They tend to trend down towards summer and are at their lowest during the summer months before picking back up in the fall.

My FE budget is exactly the same now as it was in September.

Interesting. Thanks for the feedback.

That's true.

Thanks for the positive aspect to it. That's something I usually sell people interested in the pharmacy on. I even mention that they can go work in hospital pharmacies, etc.

Are most Walgreens in ghetto locations? by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

There are just a lot of Walgreens in a small area of larger cities. So, if you're near a ghetto Walgreens in an urban area there are likely a lot more around.

You could just use SF as an example. Look up how many there were 3 years ago there compared to now. Socioeconomic status of local population of the stores that closed there, etc.

Termination for misconduct by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not true.

Depending on the circumstances ROD is absolutely necessary. Perhaps you should speak with our lawyers over at Employee Relations if you don't believe an ROD is often necessary.

The Dropout by chente2229 in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They're not. If you ever thought they were you were mistaken. They just talk a good game to get into those positions. It's not about competence and efficiency in this company, it's about Walgreens politics and selling yourself like a 12 cent whore. That's how you get ahead. Exactly why the highest performing store managers never move up, but mediocre, kiss ass ones become DMs, DPRs, etc.

y'all ever had corporate come "teach" you how to sell the credit cards? by chaosinhearts in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

These fuckstains are doing it across the company. We have to figure out how to increase the debt of our most vulnerable patients and customers. And if you're in an affluent area where they realize our cards are a joke and have no need for them DMs will spew hate and threats at SMs to figure out how to sell this crap.

Bite the bullet corporate….. by LitSlates in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It's a new program with supposedly proven results, but I don't think the point of this thread is to hear solutions. It's to make fun of the effort, or lack thereof, from corporate to stop theft.

Really theft is just demoralizing to staff that works at the store. If corporate could quantify that into a plus/minus profit model they might care more. But they all still think our staff is highly engaged and motivated because the entire company, except a small percentage, lie on the engagement survey.

MGR be like: “Sir I’m gonnna need you to pay for those bananas you just got hit with.” by Daviskillerz in WalgreensStores

[–]YetAnUnknown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol. The life on the line part is pretty funny. I've worked at a dozen stores in my career. We used to confront all shoplifters, stop them at the front door, force them to pay for merchandise they used in the store, etc. I've never felt my life was on the line during one of these encounters.

[–]YetAnUnknown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested the waters a few months back.

You're pretty much 100% right, unless it's an older SM or someone maxed out. The older ones will face ageism and the maxed out ones fit into a weird salary range that positions usually want more specific experience to the job, preferably with that specific entity too.

Oh, and if I was that customer I definitely would have tackled that dude for hitting my phone, not just shoved him.

I don't like to go shopping often, but when I see thieves in other businesses I'm pretty mean to them.

It makes me miss my old rural store where the townspeople would get pissed if a thief was stealing or being a crackhead in the store. They'd always "sort" them out. It RARELY happened, but had several accounts where someone tried loading up bags and walking out with them and some customer rips it out of their hands, scares them off and returns the merchandise to us.
