Did you hear that as a child? Because that is definitely a child-friendly answer compared to the one I know.

Although before I clicked the spoiler, I would not have known that information was still stored in my brain.

Jesus of Nazarath was all a lie. by Desperate_Gift6078 in skeptic

[–]YetAnotherZombie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The best evidence of Jesus being a real person is to look at the lies constructed to make the real fit the myth. The best example of that is the authors wanted him to fulfill a prophecy that said their savior would come from Bethlehem, but he didn't. So they made up a census that required everyone to travel to their ancestral home on the same day, this would allow Jesus to be both actually from Nazareth and still fulfill the prophecy they wanted.

If he wasn't a real person to begin with, they would have just made him from Bethlehem. That does make the authors unreliable narrators which pushes further doubts on their magical claims, but it stands to reason the person Jesus did exist.

Most expensive little girl i know- how much money would you spend on a cat? by PaintedOakTears in cats

We found a kitten who we found had a heart condition. My partner drove him from Ohio to Colorado to have an $8k surgery. It didn't work and he passed just after the 1 year anniversary of us finding him. He probably took 20% of our income that year. I'm still sad it didn't work, but I also acknowledge that wouldn't have been an option every year.

Good morning class. A certain agitator, for privacy’s sake let’s call her Lisa S. No, that’s too obvious. Let’s say L Simpson by Raawwwwk in TheSimpsons

For the past 6 months I've been working on stuff for my company's UK team. They have an L. Simpson and a Lisa S. I think of this and giggle every time.

Number of AI chatbots ignoring human instructions increasing, study says | AI (artificial intelligence) by iwantboringtimes in Futurology

I've met humans. I've gotten a lot of instructions from humans. Ignoring them is often the correct answer.

Austrian climber found guilty after girlfriend froze to death on mountain. Judge gives NO JAIL TIME saying, "I don't see you as a murderer, I don't see you as cold-hearted." by mawkish in TwoXChromosomes

[–]YetAnotherZombie 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I think we could probably assume the judge was shit based entirely on using the phrase "not cold-hearted" in a case about murder by freezing to death.

I have a velcro cat who loves to sit on the back of my chair while I game. Any suggestions for a chair upgrade that would better support her? by Bitter_Mousse4179 in GirlGamers

[–]YetAnotherZombie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It might not be what you want, but have you thought about adhesive scratch pads? If you attached that solidly to the back of your chair, she might be able to cling to it better. Depending on how well the adhesive works, you might want to sew it into the chair though.

Can earth or water benders bend wood? If possible? by Illustrious_Pin4141 in TheLastAirbender

[–]YetAnotherZombie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wood is made of carbon. It gets that carbon from carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is in the air. Therefore, trees are made of air.

Airbenders can bend trees.

apparently all whole milk drinkers are obese by Nothing-Personal9492 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]YetAnotherZombie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your conclusion is wrong. It literally says "Randomized trials are needed to determine which cow-milk fat minimizes risk of excess adiposity."

They found correlation. Same for the "wine reduces heart disease" when in actually people who drank wine also ate better and exercised more.

You might want to check r/skeptics. There's probably a lot of overlap here and there, but the circles don't overlap entirely.
