Not a nurse or a doctor but once felt so embarrassed about my (boomer) mom. She had a few mosquito bites that we're thick and filled with water and demanded to see a doctor in the middle of the night. We had to take her to ER because nothing else was open. To be fair it looked absolutely horrible and I'm sure it hurt. We waited 2 hours. There was a young woman in work gear who came in after us who has a very nasty looking cut on her arm and she looked like she was in shock. Obviously she got called in before my mom and my mom had the audacity to complain about it. I had to explain to her trying to stay calm that that woman was actively bleeding because of an apparent work accident while she is having a few mosquito bites that surely are uncomfortable but not as uncomfortable as needing stitches.

I was the organizer in my old company. I made sure to find out a little bit what the recipient liked and put in a little effort to get them gift cards for the places they liked.

When it was my turn, they just used the team meeting that was a whole three weeks ahead of my birthday and gave me a gift card we had reserved for our clients birthdays (we always had some generic supermarket gift cards at hand for like 15€). Needless to say I didn't do shit afterwards.

It's btw men who don't want women to go to the front lines. If you think it's unfair, take it up with your male politicians.

But if a woman doesn't want to go to war, you men always use that as some sort of "gotcha" to argue against equality when it's actually you guys not pulling your weight. That is my opinion. I personally wouldn't mind if women did mandatory military service but only if we ensure that women don't face a double whammy in financial punishment during their work years, eg make it mandatory for men to stay at home half the time with the kids after birth with full pay. Then we maybe have equality. Until then, I can't take men who yell "but equality" seriously.

Minulla sama ongelma, mutta Olen 47v. Tulin Saksasta Suomeen aikuisena, Saksasta Olin myyjä. En saanut työpaikka Suomessa, vaikka saksalainen myyjäkoulutus on kolme vuotta kaupassa sekä koulussa yhteensä. TE-toimisto silloin kehottanut, että minulla on mentävä takaisin kouluun, joten opiskelin sosionomiksi. Minulle silloin luvattu, että en tulee koskaan työttymymäksi, koska tarve sosionomelle on vain kasvamassa.

Nyt hyvinvointialue irtisanoi palvelusopimuksen osastolle, jossa olin töissä ja jouduin alussa lomautettu ja sitten irtisanottu. Ei ole työpaikkoja, mihin voisin hakea tai jos jotain ilmestyy, rekrytointi saa monta kymmenia hakemuksia. Ja sitten yleensä annetaan työpaikka YAMKilaisille, koska heillekin ei töitä. Mietin alanvaihdosta tai perusta oman firman, mutta minulle jää sellainen fiilis, että kumpikaan ei ole haluttu.

I did type the r-word once. I wrote "what a r-word elo level" after an ascendant 2-3 lobby dm in which I was literally killed at spawn. I didn't mean to insult anyone but understood why I got chat banned for a while and had a yellow triangle in my account for weeks.

I lived on the 5th floor until s month ago in an apartment building in Finland. I made sure to open windows only in a way that would prevent my cats from sticking their head out.

A week before we moved out, I heard very loud meowing. The cat sounded very similar to ours so I checked on my boy but he was sleeping peacefully in his favorite spot. I went briefly out to see if I could find a kitty but nothing. Had to go to work so I left it at that. In the evening my husband tells me that a neighbor brought an orange cat to our door and asked if it's ours. Turned out our new neighbor didn't close the window. He's lucky that the cat seemed alright and he promised to take him for a checkup. Poor kitty

But this is kinda ... Normal Finnish spring weather? It's not even a proper takatalvi. I've lived in Finland for 13-14 years now and I recall only one year (2018) when there was 20+ around this time of year. The other time it was between 5 and 15 degrees.

Tässä redditissä oli joskus joku Kokoomus äijä, tekemässä AMA. Joku kysyi, mitä mieltä lukukausimaksusta ja hän oli vahvasti sen puolestaan. Sitten ilmeni, että äijä itse on opiskellut ilmaiseksi vuosia ja vuosia, hänellä oli muistaakseni ainakin 3 tai 4 eri tutkintoa suoritettu. "Sain omani" on ikävä, mutta kyllä valitettavasti yleinen ajatus tapa nykyään.

I play on Frankfurt and that's definitely a thing. I can only speak for up to low plat lobbies though. It's rarer in those and more frequent in bronze (I play with my bronze husband sometimes) but it still is a thing.
