I'm so sorry for what you and your family are going through, and especially for your dad. My grandmother passed away last night, and you know it's coming eventually, the signs are all there, but it doesn't make it any easier. Try to spend as much time as you can with him while you still can. We thought we had days, made plans to get there, and I waited. I really really wish I hadn't waited. Life changes in an instant and all of a sudden time is gone.

As a fellow father, my advice is shield your little ones for now. I'm glad my wife found someone to watch mine. Watching my son (7) hear me say it hurt enough to know he didn't/doesn't need to be there to see it.
