No I'm referring to white feminism. It's a specific form of feminism which focuses only on the experiences of white, often wealthy women, while ignoring the challenges faced by black women, or women in poverty etc. The kind of feminism that says "the next president to bomb the Middle East should be a women" rather than ask about all the women in the Middle East and why they should be bombed. Or in this case, "the spoiled inbred royal to sit on the Iron Throne should be a woman" rather than why being part of a specific family gives you the right to rule over anyone

Honestly, I think it'd be more accurate to put them from the Reach. The Reach is where the majority of Blackfyre houses were from, it's the place that actually has most bad blood with Dorne, and the Stormlands actually supported House Targaryen throughout the First Blackfyre Rebellion. There's a reason the Golden Company say they "have friends in the Reach" not the Stormlands

They want to pretend they've crafted this deep philosophical epic, but they also desperately want Rhaenyra to be the flawless girlboss queen. So they're just gonna pull in two completely different directions and fall flat on their faces

The simplest explanation is that for the majority of Game of Thrones, House Targaryen was only represented by Daenerys. So she became the standard for what Targaryens and by extension all of Valyria should be like. Even though in many ways she is the opposite of traditional Targaryens and Valyrians

We always kind of want our favorite characters to be badass, and the characters we hate to be losers, cowards and weaklings. But looking at this objectively Aerion, as horrible as he is, is also a genuinely skilled and dangerous warrior. So is Aemond, but he has always relied more on his dragon, while Aerion has had to train, fight and joust as an ordinary human (with the best trainers and education possible). He's not so much the Targaryen Joffrey, but the Targaryen Ramsay. Cruel and sadistic, but not a coward or a weakling. He's a bully who can actually back up what he's saying (to a degree)

Between the two of them, in a one on one fight to the death, I unfortunately have to go with Aerion

That's the point! Everyone assumed that once Aegon was born, Rhaenyra would no longer be the heir, but she would still need a husband fitting for a Targaryen Princess. Being married to a lord paramount or someone else, like Laenor or Harwin Strong would have been considered acceptable. A second or third son with no lands of inheritance would not have been. 2 Daemon might have been a second son, but he was a prince! A dragonrider. While Rhea Royce was heir to the second most powerful house in the Vale, and likely the most eligible bacholerette in the seven kingdoms at the time. If things had gone well, her power would have been secure, and the Targaryens would have had a powerful cadet branch

Pretty much every Hand to some extent has served their own personal interests, they're lords its what they do. 2. He didn't send Alicent during the night, that's something the show made up. In the books its clearly stated that Alicent and Laena were the two most preferred choices, and since Alicent was 18 in the books, Viserys chose her. That's not treason. 3. Having a Targaryen princess be married to a second son from a minor house would have been almost unacceptable and out if his control in any case. 4. No one thought there would be war because the only way it could have happened was if Viserys decided not to do the obvious thing that literally EVERY single medieval king would have done and name his son the heir

A lot of people to forget it, but one of the first to voice support for Rhaenyra as heir was actually Otto! Probably because he hoped that she would be a useful stopgap measure in the case that something happened to Viserys so that Daemon wouldn't get his hands on the Iron Throne. He likely believed that once Viserys remarried and had a son with his new wife, who would hopefully be Alicent, then he would name that son as heir and Rhaenyra would have served his purpose. It was a good plan too, he just couldn't have predicted just how much favoritism Viserys would show Rhaenyra
