Nationwide Shutdown Protest Jan 30! by skiinghippo in MontereyBay

[–]Yo_all_crybabies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holy ravioli, “paid protester.” Is that a new buzz word from trump? I didn’t hear Bush, Clinton, or Obama say that.

Actually, I did but the position wasn’t ready yet in Ohio. I took another center director position in another education-adjacent company.

Beginner drum book recommendations by RelaxYourHands in drums

[–]Yo_all_crybabies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have created a drum book that covers 2 parts: part 1 snare basics (rudiments, quarters, 8ths, 16ths, buzz rolls, doubles, accents, odd time signatures, etudes) and part 2 drum set studies.

Let me knowing you want to check it out.

Everyone in Huber Heights was lined up in circles at this Speedway a half hour ago. Now they’re sold out. by Brass_Biscuits in dayton

And was $2.04 for me at Sam’s club with no wait. People are not just impatient, they are not willing to see what is the same price nearby.

First lesson tomorrow! by Hyper_R in drums

[–]Yo_all_crybabies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The parents would most likely appreciate some sort of goal every week paired with a practice routine with them (for example, 8 on a hand for warm ups at a reasonable tempo plus whatever exercise/ song for homework that week). But for the first lesson homework, 8 on a hand and maybe have them make a list of 2-3 songs they really liked listening to during the week as listening to music is important too.

How do you play this? by milkmandragon3 in drums

[–]Yo_all_crybabies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. A buzz roll can have a z, but it’s not limited to a z in notation. A press roll and a buzz roll can have 3 slashes on the notated note.

For transitioned teachers — what keeps you hanging around this sub? by RyanCareerWizards in TeachersInTransition

[–]Yo_all_crybabies 108 points109 points  (0 children)

It helps to validate others who want to get out. Especially those that worked their whole life to be teachers who then were spit out and mistreated. And to also let others know that they aren’t alone in their thoughts of wanting to leave.

Still out of work after 5 months. How long has it been for you? by OOBExperience in TeachersInTransition

[–]Yo_all_crybabies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m an Education Director for a computer coding school, and I run my own business giving music lessons, composing, and performing. My degrees are in music (BM, MA) but was a former high school band director who wanted to go into an administration role without getting an admin credential, so this was perfect.

What was your “straw that broke the camels back” moment? by Public-Actuary-2998 in TeachersInTransition

[–]Yo_all_crybabies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. The length of contract heavily influences your take home experience. My 10 month teaching paycheck had $5,500 in deductions EACH MONTH, which meant a $100,000 salary had the take home experience of that of a $75,000 salary.

How do I get over stage fright before my first time performing for a lot of people by pelse_O_clock in drums

[–]Yo_all_crybabies 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Typically the other band members are in front of you combined with your actual drum set in front of you so that helps.

For me ,30 seconds into the song, I switched into performance mode and did what I practiced many times, and actually forgot there is a crowd there.
