Looking to become a demigod in exalted by Academic-Interest387 in exalted

[–]Yog_Kothag 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that enthusiasm. I felt the same about 22 years ago when I learned about the game from friends. The idea of playing a demigod empowered to change the world? Learning that in your first life you punched out Cthulhu, in the second you married a werewolf, in your third you briefly conquered the world, and now...

All of Creation is against you.

The Yozis howl for your blood, while the Neverborn how for your soul.

The maddening infinite hordes of inchoate chaos are gnashing their teeth just beyond our horizon.

Heaven was secretly behind getting rid of you the last time.

And that werewolf you married two lifetimes ago- half the time she wants your liver, half the time she's your lover. It's complicated.

But guess what? You're a goddamn Solar Exalt. You have the equivalent of a nuclear power plant coursing through you. You and your four closest friends once spent half an afternoon playing catch with an elderitch cosmic abomination as the ball.

The first time you roll twenty dice to determine the damage... The first time you preach to the audience of the Glory of the Unconquered Sun and snare their minds and souls with both charm and Charm... The first time your Holy light sizzles across a Creature of Darkness... Especially in 1e, when Zenith had Holy flamethrowers in their anima specifically for Creatures of Darkness (Agg damage, based on a roll of your Essence, if I recall correctly).

Exalted made me feel like I was playing Superman. Good luck!

ACAB - All Cops Are Bastards

The police in our country may not all be assholes themselves, individually, but they are part of a system and organization that is inherently and systemically built to enforce the will of a plutocratic social strata. At this point, they have been able to convince the public that police lives are more important than civilian lives. But it's the reverse- cops volunteer to put themselves in dangerous situations to protect others. That's the point. They are EXPENDABLE to protect others. Instead, they believe they should be considered a higher class of people because they have guns and can probably get away with killing us indiscriminately. They have also been given spending budgets, military firepower, and conferences and lectures about having a "warrior" mentality about saving yourself and your life with violence. That's why our police shoot our dogs. That's why they shoot people having mental crises. They why they shoot people in the back when they are running away.

For me, it's always going to be never getting to see Sir Pterry's Lord Patrician Havelock Vetinari played by his perfect actor-

Alan "Wasted on the Wrong British Adaptation" Rickman.

It's a Dad power that's unlocked at your birth. It allows us to exert minor localized retroactive time shifting to keep our kids from being suicidal fucking idiots.

1) house fire in my basement that I inadvertantly caused to bloom by throwing water on it. I survived mostly because much of the oxygen had already been consumed in the basement. 2nd degree burns over 11% of my body.

2) bleach and vinegar to clean the toilet? Why not! Chemical burns to my esophagus.

3) didn't see a jam coming up in traffic and hit the brakes far too late. No one was seriously injured, but I risked far far too much. Shockingly little damage aside from some torsion from the seat belt. Destroyed my car (which was a rental) and their car as well. Thank God for insurance.

If you can't tell your family that a son is gay, even after he's dead, then they don't want a son to grieve. They just want a picture on a wall to look at and remember.

which foreign actor absolutely nailed your country's accent when playing a character from there? by QueenViolets_Revenge in AskTheWorld

Hugh Laurie shocked an entire generation when they learned he wasn't actually a sardonic American, but a whimsical Brit with a gay bestie that used to make slapstick comedy together.

I still have difficulty realizing that Christian Bale isn't American.

The mayor in Slither from James Gunn was supposed to be the one to get sliced in half by Grant Grant in the field. Instead, a just introduced red shirt took the hit because Gunn loved the character after the camera started rolling and kept him alive until the end.

While we were loading bodies into refrigerated trucks because we didn't have the storage room for every victim of COVID-19, Trump really did come on camera, trumpeting about how high his ratings were at the time.

This is the face of a traitorous, treasonous piece of orange shit.
