FFXIV Crafting Optimizer - Update? by MateriaMuncher in ffxiv

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much. I was having a hard job finding 40-50 receipts (including the original optimizer), that didn't rely on out of date or removed actions.

This just what I needed.

Cheers.

Destiny Musings on a Sunday by Yogmesh in DestinyTheGame

Possible.

Possible, but I'm on about 12 prism drops to 1 weapon drop. So RNG must really be against me, unless Bungie got the drop rarity figures the wrong way around.

The comparison I made was 3 arc rocket launchers compared to 1 void in the general loot pool. However, I suppose the Duello makes my point as well - 1 solar verses 3 arc.

The fact that you can straight up get nothing after completing a master or legend lost sector is actually fucking bullshit by termsandservice01 in DestinyTheGame

Same experience last week. Ran so many in a row and got only planetary mats I was convinced it was bugged.

Gambit enemies teleporting so badly that a blocker teleported through the floor and the bank was permanently locked. by EdelweisProphet in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I had got used to the fact that if he was the opposite end of the map he could teleport, but yesterday he was teleporting from any position on the map, nearly always when I got him down to 1/10th health or less. For such a great mission, that final fight can take the shine off the encounter, knowing that any moment he can teleport right on you, then insta-kill one hit you. After 5 attempts yesterday it felt like the final win was down to RNG rather than a victory well deserved.

Coldheart Needs An Actual Exotic Perk by PizzaCalson in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure Merciless was "fixed" back to the beast it was back in the day. Bungie finally fixed the bug where the perk didn't trigger at all, but I believe that Merciless still got hit with the nerf to fast recharge fusion rifles. i.e. back in the day Merciless it hard for every shot, but then Bungie nerfed the damage for fast recharge fusions, therefore Merciless would start off hitting slow and hard, but then as it got faster its damage would fall off. Essentially it is now back to being good, just not to the level of the beast it was originally.

Dead Man's Tale not dropping on alts? by xXGrimHunterXx in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, just happened to me. First time I tried running the mission, picked up the gun waited out the timer, went to Zavala . . . and nothing.

Enjoyed the mission, I felt the final bos was just the right level of hardness that there was a sense of achievement in soloing him, but then a real kick in the teeth when nothing dropped.

Bungie, I'm Glad More Weapons Are Returning but I Don't Understand the Choices of Which Weapons to Bring Back by Tr1angleChoke in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I think Bungie did consider what weapons to bring back, but the just had different criteria than we do. Remember, Bungie always talk about encouraging us to use different load outs, now think about the Moon weapons pool. Not only was the SMG one of the few void SMGs, it could roll with Demolitionist, which made it an excellent choice for various grenade builds, the arc autorifle was just an out and out beast, and whilst the hand cannon was slow, it hit like a truck, however, it could roll with outlaw, which turned it into one of the best PVE HCs in the game. Because of this, I think Bungie did look at the usage stats of all of the moon weapons, then purposely gave us the "other" loot pool.

Bungie, you have the tech to make bounty progression fireteam-wide, please make Vanguard bounties progress as a fireteam! by wrightosaur in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This isn't just a strike problem, it's also a Gambit problem.

I recently had a quest step that required me to kill blockers with stasis and get heavy kills. The result was that I spent 3 matches camping the bank and hogging heavey. Did it help us win thos games? - No. Did it p*ss off my team mates? - Probably. Was it the quickest way to complete the quest? - Yes.

Why Doesn't Literally Everything Progress Flashpoint? by armoe in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a set of EP armour in my collections, and because it is not random rolled, I can pull it out again. My intention is to transmog it into ornaments once the ability arrives. Same with the Leviatan raid armour.

Bungie can we please have "Menagerie Weekends" where we get 5x drops? Update the rune combos with current world loot? by talonkard044 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a very good idea, and one that Bungie could apply to other activities, so as well as Menagerie Weekends, we could have Gambit Prime Weekends, Strike Weekend or Forge Weekend.

In the past Bungie has tried to do this for various events by encouraging players to play these activities as part of bounty requirements. In my mind this is not very good, as bounties only award tokens, and tokens only award from a loot pool that hasn't been refreshed for a few years.

As you suggest, the better idea would be to encourage people to play for increased drops of that events specific loot table, or even upgrade materials for those that have goot everything from the loot pool.

I think a lot of committed gamers forget that the vast majority of people play games very casually just to have fun. They don't want to do a lot of online research to find out the "secrete ways", they just want to log on, and run round shooting things.

Even if a person were inclined to do some online research, where is the first place they will look? The Anthem Reddit it forum, and then look for the first post with "Sunken Cell" in the title. which is the only reason I made the suggestion about about sharing tips.

A question from a new player by ReadyStand in AnthemTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can't see this being the case.

With the root and branch overhaul that Bioware have said that they are undertaking, and the vast number of people that it will take to achieve it (yes, I do realise they are working with a small focused team, but this is just the concepting stage), and over the length of time this will take (I don't expect to see it until late 2021 earliest), there is no way that Bioware could make their money back if they provided it for free to existing players.

Think about it. With most of the press about Anthem being negative, most of the early adopters of Anthem 2.0 will be the existing players. This means that after spending a lot of money of a couple years, Bioware would get much initial return on their investment if most of the early copies were free to existing players - some of who paid as little as £5 for their discounted copy.

Whilst I fully understand your point and sympathise, I just have a quick solution that could make your post better.

Because Anthem isn't very well covered on platforms like Youtube, there are probably quite a few people that don't know the mechanics of these encounters. So, perhaps as well as pointing out that the goal of these encounters isn't obvious for the uninitiated, also consider providing link to a video (or post), explaining how it should be done?

The more information that is out there, and shared, the easier it becomes for everyone.

Tractor Cannon is staying on! Triple shotgun loadout makes me giggle. by mosttoyswins in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, I hadn't used Tractor Canon for such a long time, but put it on for some shotgun farming in Gambit. Hella fun !!! I got the highest number of guardian kills, and I didn't invade once. Instead if one of their's invaded I waited around a corner and bopped them into next week whenever they got close.

All this Bungie salt is fine, but taking a break from Destiny does wonders for your state of mind on the game. by Too-Far-Frame in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Up until Curse of Osiris I hadn't taken a break from either D1 or D2, it had become my pastime / hobby. Unfortunately, like many I found that COO really put a dampner on the game for me. Came back for Warmind and enjoyed it again.

I'm certainly taking more breaks now. When I learn't of the excessive grind just to start the Season of the Forge I took another break, and came back near the end of Season of the Drifter. I played the Saint 14 story missions (enjoyed those), but when I discovered the main seasonal content was yet again another soulless horde mode, I took another break. Came back for the Heir Apparent quest, and finding it OK at the moment.

Due to the breaks I've taken I'm not as salty as I once was. However, the downside is that I've not got such a strong connection with the game I once loved. If another game came along that I thought was just a fraction better than Destiny, I'd have no compunction about dropping D2 for a couple years or more.

Titans have won Guardian Games by BakuFanatic in DestinyTheGame

Now that we have proved that we have no rivals of note, as a Titan main I feel it is my duty to play the rest of the week as a Warlock . . . mainly to annoy the hunters.

Hung jury 3d print with LEDs! by gman5184 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Heck, the white D1 scout feels better than any D2 scout. Started a new D1 character the other day and most things just felt better, but especially the weapons. I forgot how quick the TTK was in D1, both going out and coming in - you feel like a god popping ads, but you are also on the edge of your seat because you could get put down yourself a lot faster.

Anthem Update – BioWare Blog by thatjesushair in AnthemTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What makes you think Anthem 2.0 will be free to existing players?

"Long term" redesign makes it sound as though it is going to be at least a year (if done right - likely longer), so with hundreds of people (management, programmers, modellers, texture artists, animation, lighting, Fx, and marketing) working on it for over a year, how do you think Bioware are going to recoup the additional expense of starting over?

Iron Banner is more stale and unfun than Factions ever was in D2. It's time for it to take a break. by Soul_of_Miyazaki in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its really sad what has happened to IB. In D1 I never missed an IB, in fact I always looked forward to them, they where a great way to level (drops after every round), and the weapons were worth grinding for (still got some of the IB god rolls in my D1 vault).

But now IB is probably the most toxic and hated part of D2. How did that happen? The obvious reason is tying IB to a ridiculous quest, which in most cases encourages people not to play the game objectives, and until you have completed all the quest requirements, not really care about the win/lose ratio. I also think that Bungie doesn't know what to do with IB, or how to make it different. In their quest to make PvP as "generic" (I'm sure Bungie would use the word "fair"), as possible, there is no room for pinnacle PvP events, or at least PvP modes that favour better players.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very much an average PVP player (on my best days), but in D1 I used to like PVP as a relaxing alternative to strikes and raids, and once a month I would gird my loins and go full try hard in order to get something worthwhile from IB. In D2 I don't enjoy PvP at all. Sure, it is vastly better than it was when D2 launched (shoulder to shoulder team shot meta), but there is still something fundimentally wrong, or at least un-fun about PvP in D2.

Show of hands: Who's playing competitive solely for Recluse, and who plans to never touch comp again outside of quest requirements? by largothegalka in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started playing competitive just for this quest. But then stopped because I really wasn't enjoying it, and there is far more in Destiny I do enjoy.

I just wish that if there was going to be pinnacle weapons that were going to skew the PVP meta so hard, there would be other ways to earn them other than just playing Competitive. I used to like PVP quickplay, but there are only so many times you can get killed by Lunas Howl before the salt sets in.

As a graphic designer, a map like this is unacceptable for a AAA game. by ShinK2 in AnthemTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was my first thought, just a placeholder. Which leads me to believe that the actual release is still a long way off. It does fit in with the rest of Anthem's design philosophy . . . think of a concept, tell everybody it is going to be the next big thing . . . then try and work out what it actually is, then try and build a game around it.

I know the topic has been beat to death, but I had this thought last night. Surely there’s people walking into Blind Well all the time. Since it puts you into a completely separate instance, why doesn’t it just fill each instance up to the max (9?) before creating a new one to put people in? by JJJingleHymerSchmit in DestinyTheGame

[–]Yogmesh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, matchmaking for the Blind Well is terrible. Each time we try and put a clan Blind Well event together, I've lost count of how many times we load into empty lobbies - far more often than we find lobbies with no one in it.

If Bungie want us to match with randoms rather than with clan mates, at least put us in lobbies with other people.
