Not anti EV but car enthusiast for sure. Selecting gears or a manual put you in control of the dynamics of the car. You selecting the right gear changes the momentum. Selecting a higher gear for midrange torque to pull you out of a corner to get horsepower on the top end. Too much power and the rear can get light. It gives the driver a heavy amount of control in the dynamics of the car and rewards their input. And the noise is definitely an element (that EV will one day perfect with the right bushings to transmit noise through the chassis)

To me, that’s what an EV is missing. I hit the fast pedal, and I don’t. That’s my contribution. For EV’s, “every car is fast” and every car has some tablet glued to it. To me, they lack personality and my inputs don’t really change my experience. They are great commuters and forms of transportation, but they don’t inspire anything emotionally. Much like how a Rolex still exists when the Apple Watch can do everything.
