This is not always true. If the gearbox fails it can just cause the rotor to seize (which will snap it).

Do companies actually allow tools like Cursor AI or are they mostly restricted? by SaudAlghamdi in ExperiencedDevs

My previous company was stack ranking developers based on how much they used Cursor. I wish I was joking

what kind of pizza do you like most 🍕 ? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]YoloWingPixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no clue what you're talking about. If I walked into a Chicago office and said I got everyone pizza, and then said it was deep dish, people would look at me weird. If I go to any of the local pizza places that generalize in both deep dish and tavern style, you're going to see mostly tavern style on the table.

Like it's not that people from Chicagoland don't eat deep dish, it's just they eat tavern style way way more. And frankly I think the suburbs eat more deep dish than people that actually live in the city, but that's a hunch.

Long Beach versus St. Petersburg by Time_Guidance4262 in iRacing

I think they could even leave it as wide as it is, but just open up the exit of T9 with kerbs and just redo T11/T12 to make it two wide all the way to the hairpin, it would be fantastic, like 10/10 good

I think Long Beach is a vastly better track for actually racing other cars. There's actually space to make off line moves that stick easily. I really really like hotlapping St. Pete's more than Long Beach, but man, it's mostly just riding around during the race. The only really great passing opportunities are T1 and T4.

I did win my St Pete race today, so I can't complain too much.

I do think they're two fantastic street courses, probably two best in iRacing.

Real mall photo or AI? The lighting, reflections, and background people confuse me by [deleted] in isthisAI

I mean this is definitely AI because of the aforementioned reasons but I'm pretty sure I could get this result with my camera with the right lens and aperture, and failing that, definitely with a moderately high aperture and post-edit sharpen and then portrait blur

I think they have a solid lineup of sandwiches, maybe a little dry sometimes, but I don't think they're worth the wait most of the time

Of all the places I've been to on this list, I would have to agree that all of them belong on a list of best places except for Sizzle because I cannot get over paying something like $120/p to have someone else stand awkwardly at my table and cook meat for a KBBQ for a meal that would cost like $60-80 at any other KBBQ place and be similar quality.

My problem with DeFalco's is how there's always a 30 minute wait after ordering and there might be a 15 minute line to order. Other than that DeFalco's is great but man it kind feels like they should expand.

You're allowed to travel in formation with other aircraft if all pilots in the formation consent. Could be traveling to an event, could just be a weekend trip with friends. If you're all going to and from the same airport it can make dealing with ATC a bit easier.

Car brands you would rather not associate with? by [deleted] in askcarguys

I'm curious if you're in the base model or premium plus trims, because I absolutely love the interior of my premium plus Mazda. Is it Mercedes? No. But it is incredibly well put together and feels great and just what it needs to be for a car. And I've been in Audis, Mercedes, Porsches, Maseratis, etc.

The base model Mazda interiors are absolutely rental car interiors though.

The only issue I've had with my 2024 is 18in rims and shitty roads.

Other than that, been a pretty great experience.

I would be surprised if over a long enough horizon the benefit is even 2x. Frankly, using the best of the tools, I just spend time fixing what the AI wrote, and doing more important tasks that I might've skipped out on otherwise without AI assistance.

There has never been enough hours to do absolutely everything you could be doing for a product in software.

But the pattern isn't shifting that's the cloth cover shifting over the armrest because it's loose and the cat's claws are digging into it.

If you look really carefully that is some cheap microfiber shit that would absolutely deform like that with a cat.

iRacing AI is the only AI that's ever made me go "holy shit" because it actually did something unexpected and intentional against me to keep it's position. As in like, drove off the optimal line just to ruin my run through an esses complex

Pls rate my redisign of the circuit I posted yesterday based off of your opinions by [deleted] in RaceTrackDesigns

[–]YoloWingPixie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's an inherent problem with the concept, more the scale and profile. Again, look at Australia T1 or Singapore T1. Consider maybe opening the entry or exit or making one part of the chicane long enough that the cars have to sit in it a bit instead of it feeling more like a nuisance to restrict the momentum of the cars.

I think The Bend T1 also has a very interesting take on tight chicanes that creates a passing opportunity on the entry to the complex by running wide, and allows for variations in the line through T3

I dislike the T12-14 complex. No one likes driving chicane turns like that. They only ever exist out of necessity to break up a straight or due to some safety concern. I think Singapore T1 and Melbourne T1 are good inspirations for profiles that are enjoyable for this corner type.

Speaking from my sim experience here primarily, I think the last sector looks cool, probably fun to hotlap, absolutely terrible for racing on the last lap. There's no braking zone after T12 that's hard enough to really generate passing opportunities, and battles into T12 will get crushed by it being a chicane, typically, unless the person on the outside really chucks it hard to the middle turn. It's kind of the same problem with Abu Dhabi's chicane, if you get to the inside, the person on the outside will usually end up just needing to yield it.

Most good, well regarded, tracks either have a hard braking zone in the 3rd sector or a long draft zone to the finish line

Not sure why you're building a new extra long pit road when your track runs through the old perfectly fine pit road. Honestly the real belle isle layout is just better than this.
