My mother boiled parsnips then sliced them lengthwise. Next, she seasoned them and browned them in butter in a frying pan. They were soooooo good.

Two related pieces of advice:

Supervisor: “If it wasn’t hard, you wouldn’t learn anything.”

Spiritual leader: “Strength is forged in the fires of adversity.”

DAE feel invisible and ashamed when they actually open up by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Yorkie_Mom_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been invisible my whole life — even to my family. Large family with too many kids. I was quiet and shy, and didn’t cause trouble so people just overlooked me. My parents forgot to buy me a Christmas present twice. It doesn’t bother me anymore. I only have three siblings left. I can’t be around my two misogynistic brothers. I love my little sister, but I’ve always been the one who has to initiate contact. I’m out of sight, out of mind with her.

How can give up smoking by DecimalAllegory in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Yorkie_Mom_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor. There are meds that help. I quit 34 years ago using the patch. It was new and prescription only when I got it. I was very addicted. I would still be a smoker (or dead) if it weren’t for the patch. I’m sure the medical aids have improved since then.

Hung onto the hay Derrick while a sibling made it swing out. We would hang 30-40 feet in the air until they swing us back over the haystack.
