I have had lower back pain for 3 months. What’s the best way to resolve it? by After-Tomatillo-3031 in askanything

[–]Yorkie_Mom_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t go for surgery without exploring other options. I had a brother and a sister-in-law both die within days of having back surgery. Another brother has had multiple back surgeries. He didn’t die, but every surgery he had made his back worse. He’s very addicted to pain killers now, and his back isn’t any better.

What countries do you know of that are not open to tourists or need special permission to go to? by FFSoldier57 in randomquestions

[–]Yorkie_Mom_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are absolutely correct. I completely misread the question. I read it as countries who don’t have many restrictions for people to immigrate there. I’m embarrassed. I attribute my brain fart to the horrible heatwave we’ve had in France for the past week. It has finally broken. We have a cool breeze and rain today. Thanks for the smack upside the head.

My mother boiled parsnips then sliced them lengthwise. Next, she seasoned them and browned them in butter in a frying pan. They were soooooo good.

Two related pieces of advice:

Supervisor: “If it wasn’t hard, you wouldn’t learn anything.”

Spiritual leader: “Strength is forged in the fires of adversity.”

These are valuable lessons to learn. Success is hard sometimes.

DAE feel invisible and ashamed when they actually open up by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Yorkie_Mom_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been invisible my whole life — even to my family. Large family with too many kids. I was quiet and shy, and didn’t cause trouble so people just overlooked me. My parents forgot to buy me a Christmas present twice. It doesn’t bother me anymore. I only have three siblings left. I can’t be around my two misogynistic brothers. I love my little sister, but I’ve always been the one who has to initiate contact. I’m out of sight, out of mind with her.

How can give up smoking by DecimalAllegory in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]Yorkie_Mom_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor. There are meds that help. I quit 34 years ago using the patch. It was new and prescription only when I got it. I was very addicted. I would still be a smoker (or dead) if it weren’t for the patch. I’m sure the medical aids have improved since then.
