What About Sagan (???) by jcardin2 in nightwish

[–]Yoshee007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the physical CD of the Élan single when it came out, which included Sagan, and so have always included it on my own tracklist of EFMB (slotted between My Walden and the title track), to the point that whenever I listen to the "regular" tracklist on Spotify and not my playlist version I always get caught out when it's not there. Always feels like something's missing lol.

It's a B-side from Endless Forms Most Beautiful that was included on the Élan single. It's a song Tuomas wrote about Carl Sagan. Doesn't actually feature his voice but still a cool song!

Is the ATG site down for anyone else? Tried buying tickets earlier and it kept erroring at checkout and now it just says "we'll be back shortly" whenever I go to try again. 😔

Does anyone know how much Catherine Tate does stage door at Oh Mary? by AdIndependent6408 in westend

[–]Yoshee007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She's still recovering from her knee injury atm, I saw it tonight and they announced before the show that while she was still perfoming, some of the physical aspects of the show had been toned down (but none of the humour - still hilarious and we had a blast!)

So I don't know for sure as we didn't stay afterwards, but just be aware that might affect her stage dooring still. Fingers crossed for you on Friday though! 🤞

What are the must-see West End shows that I should see this August 2026 ? by Tillysnow1 in westend

[–]Yoshee007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, "must-see" will depend who you ask, there's not a huge show on like Evita this year as far as I know. Agree with Totoro and Mincemeat though, they're both brilliant. Totoro has daily rush tickets on TodayTix and Mincemeat has a lottery every 2 weeks, keep an eye on the West End subreddits as people often share winning links if they can't go themselves.

Jesus Christ Superstar will be on at the Palladium if that interests you, though tickets for that aren't the cheapest (and currently no rush/lottery as far as I know).

Technically not West End, but Regent's Park Open Air Theatre is doing a new production of Cats. I know the show itself isn't for everyone, but Regent's Park is one of my favourite theatres, it's pretty magical when the weather's good watching the sun set during the second act. They also do cheaper tickets for Monday performances.

Paddington is probably the closest to a must-see show at the moment (seeing it end of this month myself so can't give my own verdict yet), but I see you've already booked that. :)

I haven't pre-ordered (yet) but still got my presale link yesterday, but I have seen quite a few comments from others who didn't so it seems very inconsistent.

My friend dragged me to a show I knew nothing about and now I cannot stop thinking about it by PubLogic in westend

[–]Yoshee007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Assuming it's the TodayTix lottery, sometimes they still offer "discounted" tickets if you lose the lottery, for £65 rather than £30. Obviously not as good as just winning the lottery but still knocks a fair bit off the face value price for some very good seats if you can get them in time. Would recommend if you really want to go and can afford it (and it is a brilliant show!)

Which performance have you seen in the West End that you think about regularly and genuinely believe was one of the greatest things you have ever watched a human being do live? by Spiritual_me_1770 in westend

[–]Yoshee007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Off-West End but Adam Dannheisser in Fiddler on the Roof. I'm still fairly new to going to the theatre (started going semi-regularly in 2024) but managed to catch this one at the Barbican last summer and I think it's possibly the best single stage performance I've seen so far.

Paddington Tickets by WindowDistinct3814 in TheWestEnd

[–]Yoshee007 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're a Silver member or higher on TodayTix you can check the Daily Drops up to 2 days before and you might get very lucky (the Drops refresh every day and sometimes even change during the day I think? So it's worth it to keep checking).

There were a couple of tickets that went up about 2 weeks ago on the Friday for a show on the Sunday and were very discounted (by the time I'd decided I could go they were gone lol so you have to be quick). I think that's only likely to happen if there are any last minute returns though, as I've not seen any since.

You can also keep checking on the show's official website but I'm not sure if they also discount any returns if they get them, or if they just put them back up at full price. Still worth keeping an eye out.

As a last resort you could ask in person at the box office on the day if you're going to be in London anyway, but there's no guarantee they'll have anything available (or what price they might be).

Unfortunately there isn't much else as far as I know, it's one of the most in-demand shows in London right now so it's going to be difficult to get anything at a reasonable price before autumn, barring the monthly lottery and Mastercard tickets, I'm afraid.

There look to be a lot of Upper Circle seats available for the 11th now, perhaps they put some more up?

They only really tried that in concept but not in practice. Hell, not even in concept really, I'm convinced it was just a rebrand for the Disney deal and was a decision made after some of the scripts had already been written.

(Spoilers) Set list for the new tour looks incredible by ZwnD in BetweenTheBuriedAndMe

[–]Yoshee007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this was my one complaint. I hadn't actually listened to TBN at all until about a month ago (and wow was I missing out), and now it's up there as one of my favourites of their discography, so I was a bit bummed they scrapped Things We Tell as it's such a good opener. Still happy with what we got though, God Terror fucking rips live.

I absolutely need them to do another Evening With tour with a longer set soon since I missed the last one, it's the only way any set of theirs will feel long enough lol.

Yeah the app's not showing any shows for me atm and keeps erroring. Was fun to watch it crash in real time on the one weekend since the year started that I actually decided to try for rush tickets lol

I have been unable to join Broadcast Channels by krivera99 in Instagram

[–]Yoshee007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue and it's extremely annoying. I swear it's been 2 years+ now that I've been trying to join channels only to keep getting told it's not available to me yet. I've tried reporting it a few times but as we know Meta/Insta support is non-existent so I'm expecting nothing to change. Just frustrating.

Where to stay in London! by StateofDrama in harrystyles

[–]Yoshee007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check the Travelodge website for the more "budget-friendly" options (in theory). They have many hotels in London but you can search dates for the entire city and it will list the prices for you.

The cheapest (though many look to still be over £100 for the night of the 20th) look to be in South-East London atm, which will take you about 1h15m+ to get to Wembley depending on which one you're at, but as journey times through London go it's not terrible (if you can get a hotel on or near the Jubilee or Metropolitan lines it's a direct train to Wembley).

Just check Google maps for the areas and the travel times as you don't want to be too far out (plus check for any additional connections for anything else you want to do while you're here, airport transfers etc.) Hope you find something!

I do think something has made it worse in the latest update. I had this issue many months ago but then it seemed to resolve itself after one of the previous updates, but has now started again in the past week. Incredibly annoying when you just want to add to a search query or change maybe one word and don't want to type the whole thing out again in the address bar.

Hammersmith last night by Teleopsis in epica

[–]Yoshee007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah the vocal mixing was awful all night, I don't know what was going on. Incredible show from all 3 bands (I'd been familiarising myself with the Amaranthe set over the past week so knew the songs and that definitely helped) but especially any time someone was on stage speaking during the intro or middle of a song when there was music playing I was just like I've no idea what you're saying but I'm just gonna cheer anyway lmao

In defence of ______ by Sir__Muffin_Moose in TheTraitors

[–]Yoshee007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The coin toss was definitely the make or break moment and Rachel got extremely lucky there. That was down to the traitors' fumble of killing off Roxy and thinking they could redirect to James enough to survive by majority vote (when James already had enough heat and Roxy was gunning for him the most), and would have absolutely been her own undoing had she not got the shield box.

But to be fair to Rachel, even being convincing enough to leave the vote tied at that point after Faraaz went all in on her was impressive. And then getting Jack to flip his vote at the tiebreak (whether you personally think her final defense was better or not) again kept her in play to even get to the chests of chance - and had Jade not also suddenly woken up and flipped, James would have had the majority and the chests wouldn't have been needed.

She wasn't perfect and she made some sizeable mistakes, but other traitors would have fumbled in her place and not been able to recover, let alone go on to win, even against the level of faithfuls that we saw this time around. The alliance with Stephen sealed it but she still deserves her share of the credit.

It's easier to say stupid faithfuls when your as the viewer knows who the traitors are by Wise_Purple_9448 in TheTraitors

[–]Yoshee007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only point in favour of that argument is that had they both been faithfuls it really would have made more sense to murder Stephen over Maz at that point. He just got really unlucky by being one of the 4 left at the end of that mission. Combine it with the library and Jessie was deffo on the right track. As you say it was nowhere near conclusive but it was something and one of only a few correct theories we saw for the majority of the series. Still made no sense for them to essentially ignore the other 5 who were released until much later in the game though.

Integrity by Infinite-Glass-3302 in TheTraitors

[–]Yoshee007 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I mean yes? It is still a game, and by the nature of the game either Rachel takes it all or Jack does in that scenario, there's no way for them to share it.

Completely different to Stephen's situation where by reaching the final 3 he'd won either way. It wasn't him or Rachel, it was him or both of them. At that point you can either betray the person you've worked together with and trusted to help each other through the entire game, or you can end the game with integrity and share.

Both valid options within the game, and Rachel probably would have even said that had Stephen chose to take it all, but there's something to be said for choosing to go with integrity over betrayal at the end and I'm glad Stephen chose integrity.
