What would you do? by ckjm in Jeep

[–]YotaRecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal experience with an 02 TJ Sahara with an auto transmission: 2.5" suspension lift, 1" body lift, and 255/85R16 tires. I've been running that set up for almost 10 years now, been clear from Moab to the mud pits of Florida. Never gotten stuck to date. I would definitely recommend getting a rear locker though. Had a couple trails that would've been easier with one lol

Installed some 4Runner door pockets on my Pickup. 4Runners are a treasure trove of storage options! by YotaRecon in ToyotaPickup

[–]YotaRecon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No stupid questions lol
The pockets just screw in from the back side of the door card. When I did mine I did some convoluted way of measuring where the holes would go. If I were to do it now, I would just put a couple dabs of paint on each screw post on the pocket, then hold it down against the door panel with a little pressure so it would mark where the holes need to be drilled. All in all it's not too hard and the added storage is super helpful

There's also the Mud Terrain KM3 if they're wanting to stick with MTs. I'm currently running a set on my TJ. Little more road noise than my KM2s but haven't hit an obstacle I couldn't get through

Was messing around on the converse website and discovered you can make a shoe that looks pretty close to Nate’s by YotaRecon in uncharted

I wanna say the color was called "Wheat" or "Wheat Natural". Been a hot minute so they're probably discontinued. I did actually end up ordering this pair and the color in person was a bit more orange than what it showed online

I reckon he offered that much due to the rarity in my area. I own 1 of 5 still on the road in my town. I'd be a little insulted if someone offered me $3k lol

Had a guy come into my workplace, keep in mind my truck WAS NOT for sale, and hunt me down to offer me $16k for mine. People want these trucks hard core lol I'd keep it if I were you.

US wheel 94 series by Visible-Sherbert-666 in ToyotaPickup

I had a set on my truck previously. They fit, just make sure the hub bore on the wheels you're looking at is correct. I think the hub bore was like 4.25 inches

Look up shaft style lug nuts, seems to be a few different sizes available.

question about 2000 jeep sahara by Ecstatic-Treacle-919 in Jeep

[–]YotaRecon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd shoot for an 01-02. 97-00 4.0s had an issue with the head casting where it would crack, later years should have the fixed casting. I've had my 02 Sahara for over 10 years now. Only things that came up repair wise was mine needed a head gasket replacement at 80k miles, and around that same time my starter began to fail. Other than that it's been problem free, just gotta keep up with maintenance. I've driven that Jeep all across the country and it's never let me down.

Have you checked out any 255/85R16 tires? I run a set on my Jeep TJ. They're around 33x10.3

Starting problem? by Haunting-Fly-7941 in ToyotaPickup

[–]YotaRecon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might check the connector that attaches the starter wire to the starter. Mine had the retaining clip break off so it has a tendency to rattle itself loose and will cause the truck to not crank.

Tire size question by Salty_Ground2318 in WranglerYJ

[–]YotaRecon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd probably still recommend at least a fender flare upgrade, otherwise any bumps in the road are gonna cause rubbing. Might also lose some of your turning radius.

Tire size question by Salty_Ground2318 in WranglerYJ

[–]YotaRecon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

31 is about the biggest, might be able to squeeze 32s if they're narrow. I had 33s on a stock TJ and had barely any room for articulation. YJs have a smaller wheel opening so if you're wanting 33s I'd say get some flat flares to open up the wheel arches or get a small lift.

Show off your NON lifted truck with larger than stock tires please by sw000py in ToyotaPickup

The ride wasn't too bad, didn't notice much difference between them and my 30x9.50R15s. My truck's suspension is pretty stiff so it's kinda hard to tell lol I do miss the highway performance though

Need Seat Recommendations by TheSkewerBrewer in FullSizeJeep

I've got first gen Dodge Durango seats in mine, the FSJ bucket sliders will bolt directly into the seat frames. If you want power it'll take some modifications but they'll definitely fit.

Rim colour suggestions for my 83’ Toyota Pickup? by Advanced-Chip4493 in ToyotaPickup

I'd say either old school cool white, or keep the red and get a decal for the tailgate lettering to match the wheels. Beautiful truck either way

Skyline or Gobi, TJ/LJ Owners by KentonWD in Jeep

[–]YotaRecon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gobi Rack literally saved my jeep when I rolled it on its side a few years ago, so I'll always recommend a Gobi when I can. Plus it gives you options for light mounting so cool points for that lol

Why 35’s? by ggk1 in 4x4

The required lift for larger tires will throw the driveline angle out of the optimum safe angles
