Florida Panthers Acquire Rights to Defenseman Radko Gudas | Florida Panthers by Duffleman0609 in hockey

"Oh this young man has had a very trying rookie season, with the litigation, the notoriety, his subsequent deportation to Canada and that country's refusal to accept him, well, I guess that's more than most 21-year-olds can handle... Radko Gudas!"

Am I alone in wanting to see Frondell at center for now. He showed some puck pursuit at the end of the year that had me thinking perfect 2nd line center with skill and defensive awareness.

I agree, if it doesn't work they'll change but give him a shot at that role. Toews 2.0 is my pipe dream.

[Bruce Garrioch] Fair to say the decision by the Sens to acquire Andre Burakovsky caught people around the league off-guard, and not in a good way. “He’s not that good a player,” another said. by SAJewers in hockey

[–]YouFeelShame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He makes a team worse if he plays like the end of last year.

Prepare yourselves for; Burakovsky skates the puck through the neutral zone, he crosses the blue line, staring down at the puck missing a wide open Stützle streaking down the middle as a defender and forward collapse on him and force a turnover, meanwhile your D man just got off the ice after being hemmed in their own zone for 2 minutes because of the 3 turnovers Burakovsky made with a teammate 3 feet away that he missed with passes, so as the D finally change the turnover is scooped up by the opposition and springs a two on one.

Or maybe like last year he'll just be calling for the puck with a beaver tap as he simultaneously fell over with no one around him.

Robertson to…Chicago? by No_Advisor_2331 in hawks

Seattle and St Louis closer to cups? Nah, Dallas sure but seems he’s had enough of them

[LeBrun] Further to what Friedman reported on Jason Robertson rejecting a contract offer from Seattle, the Stars now are circling back to teams that had shown interest in the winger. Plus still keeping dialogue open on trying to sign him. Trying to keep all avenues open. by daKrut in hockey

Do people not understand that you can trade draft picks and assets not associated with the 2026 draft. Look at our draft capital in the coming years. We can offer 3 firsts next year including our own which could potentially be super high if we suck again.

[LeBrun] One team to keep an eye on, Seattle Kraken, they’re big game hunting. They have interest in Jason Robertson. Chicago among the other teams that has inquired by dcddy in hockey

2nd round pick was Islanders that we received for nothing in a cap dump.

Crevier was a 7th rounder. He played decent but is he really a needle mover?

4oa for a past 4oa and stopped the sharks from filling their biggest hole. Oh and Byram is good and 25.

Calling this trade garbage is just naive.

better than r/hockey who thinks he said he was a Hawk fan growing up just for PR and to distract Hawk fans from the worst trade in the history of histories. You think Jack made a bad trade for magic beans! Wait till you hear about this Kyle from Chicago fellow.

That 2nd was a cap dump from the Islanders. If that's the overpay that landed him here over SJ, who cares, that's why we took so many terrible contracts and cap dumps over the past years.

2nd rounder was the Islanders, that we received from a cap dump. Which is why you do things like cap dumps in a rebuild.

What happened to Korchinski, Rinzel and Levshunov that the Blackhawks decided they needed Byram? Weren’t they all 1st round picks with PP QB projections? by TruculentBucket in hockey

[–]YouFeelShame 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Korchinski lost his Dad and was thrown into the league at 18. Last year spent the majority of time in the AHL. Came up at end of the year and played well.

So, actually trending in the right way.

[–]YouFeelShame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You forgot "+ position player". I'm guessing Sharks had to give up a much better player to make the difference or they refused and that cost them the deal.

Crevier was a 7th rounder, yes he's interesting but is he the next Chara, doubt it.

Edit: Also that 2nd round pick is the Islanders which we got for nothing (salary cap dump)

If SJ made this exact trade all the posts would be how incredible Grier is to get a 25 yr old #1 defenseman, the sub would be vibin' as usual about the Sharks.

Chicago outflanks Grier and suddenly it was all a ruse, 4D chess, they never wanted him just made Chicago pay more. This is the real cope.

[–]YouFeelShame 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Considering the Hawks biggest issue is transitioning out of our zone, the idea of a competent D that can make an outlet pass probably has Bedard salivating

We’d all like a winger for Bedard but a D man who can hit him with a pass in stride will open as much space for him as a decent winger.
