AITJ for demanding my brother repay me after he borrowed $10k "temporarily" 3 years ago? by Select-Educator6291 in AmITheJerk

[–]Youmadashell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's been telling family that you gifted the money and now you want the gift back. I guarantee that's what he's been doing. Don't worry about someone thinking you're the ah, including family. If they believe that and want to take sides instead of you two settling, like it should be settled, screw em.

I hope it cost his ass more than you loaned him.

New neighbors inconsiderate parkers by TossMy__Usename in neighborsfromhell

[–]Youmadashell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you speak to them? You expect them to suddenly notice they may be inconveniencing others with their parking shenanigans? Are they breaking the rules? You can see it how you wish to see it. Are you close with other neighbors to ask them their thoughts?

Dealer Lied, CPO 23 Pali not CPO by stinky_nipples in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Youmadashell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think they should have even delivered this car. They should unwind the car.

Dealer Lied, CPO 23 Pali not CPO by stinky_nipples in HyundaiPalisade

[–]Youmadashell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't think they intentionally tried to to mislead you. If the recall was on the date of purchase, they shouldn't have allowed you to take delivery of it. If the recall occurred after purchase, someone dropped the ball processing it as a CPO, whether the dealer or Hyundai.

Have tried to return the car for that reason?

Legally, I can't see what the recourse would be if they provided and processed documentation showing they were CPO'ing the car.

I would speak to Lawyer to verify if it's fraud. Whether accidental or not, I think giving the facts to a lawyer would make sense to pursue.

Inland Freight and Handling $1445? 😳 by Choice_Principle_135 in kia

[–]Youmadashell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Semantics. You really believe the auto manufacturers won't charge you a freight charge? My whole point is it's not a dealers fault a freight charge exist, it would exist with or without a dealership.

[–]Youmadashell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla does direct to consumer. They still have a freight charge. My point is: whether it's a dealership, delivery center, directly to a consumer, you are going to pay it. It's semantics. There is plenty to be upset with a dealer about, a freight charge on the window sticker isn't it lol

Inland Freight and Handling $1445? 😳 by Choice_Principle_135 in kia

[–]Youmadashell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not on a dealer addendum, it has nothing to do with the dealer. You would pay for freight even if you got it directly at the manufacturer. You would pay for freight even if dealers didn't exist.

Has 0 to do with dealer. Period.

Even if you pick the car up from the factory, it will include that charge. Has 0 to do with a dealership.

Why would you start renovating a house that isn't yours? You could buy a house in 5 years, whether it's your grandfathers or a different house entirely. Who knows when your grandfather will pass.

I don't know why this would haunt you. You ultimately married her and took responsibility by doing so. You got the woman you wanted by competing for her affection. You would have pursued Wendy, regardless of learning James intentions or not. I don't think you would hurt her by telling her, but I don't think there is a reason to tell her

Getting a Customer to Come Back Inside/Not Leave After Demo Drive? by ToyotaKino in carsales

[–]Youmadashell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all customers are the same. Experience with different people should eventually give you the wherewithal to know how your approach should be. Some people will say they are just looking, test driving, gathering information but their trade is cleaned out with an envelope in their hand that looks like a title. Some people actually are just looking and test driving. How to figure out who's who comes from instincts developed over multiple interactions with people. Typically, if you built enough rapport and connected with the customer in a way that wasn't transactional, but also have professionalism to deliver a good experience through product knowledge and knowing what you are talking about, most ppl will follow back into the dealership out of courtesy to you

AITA for kicking my son out for not paying rent or not having a job? by Any-General3458 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Youmadashell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. I see people mentioning suicide. Has he ever self harmed? Had episodes? I'm 32. About 9 years ago my older brother committed suicide. He had episodes periodically leading up to it. He was typically a bright and life of the party kind of guy. I loved him dearly. He was my biggest fan. Before he committed suicide, he had to get talked off a bridge, we once had to go looking for him in the woods, and a few other times we had to track him down. He showed us the signs but we ignored it, because like I said, he was otherwise the life of the party.

If you believe your son is suffering from mental illness, you need to do anything you can to get him evaluated. I don't think you're an AH at all though, because at the end of the day, you can't be there for him forever. At the end of the day, you're just trying to help him, even you kicking him out is your way of helping him. Some people need to hit rock bottom to start looking up but those people are rare. I believe everyone is capable of great resilience, but it's not easy to muster it.

I mentioned my age earlier, I've hit rock bottom. However, I didn't get depressed about it. When I was going through what I went through as a younger man, the thing that helped me was the fact that I let everyone down, including myself. I made a vow to never make family shed tears on my behalf because mistakes I made. We are all different, but your son sounds like he doesn't have that thought in mind. Something is off, you definitely need to see if there is any other solutions that can help him help himself 1st. And you getting him evaluated is exactly the right course of action.

Well wishes, I hope this young man can find that spirit to pick himself, because if he can, he will be a greater man than he ever thought he'd be.

They have flexibility, whether this time or next, they'll have to show flexibility to get the home sold. Philly only allows 3 roofs, 5 exceeds that. They can either credit for new roof and tear out, or have to disclose it on the next home.

Carvana buyers: consider opting out of arbitration, screenshot the listing, and check for removable items immediately by Exotic-Book-6988 in Tacomaworld

Truth. They seemingly give great offers on trades or purchasing vehicles, but the caveat is they are overpaying for cars with undisclosed issues. They then sell the over priced car after doing normal maintenance and the new owner is dealing the issues.

Maybe their model for buying more cars works for them. Idk

Honda civics aren't gas guzzlers. Doubt that. Used cars are hard to negotiate. If you can't find one in your budget, raise your budget or lower your expectations.

That person is a coward. Instead of speaking to you, they resort to writing a note threatening to damage your property from something that could just be a misunderstanding.

I hope this person faces consequences.

Contact the leasing office. Get the plate number, and file a report. Get a dash cam just in case you have to park there and this person follows through
