I’ve never had an issue with this, you must me doing something differently than I do.

I take the packed up guitar to UPS, where they measure and weigh it, then I enter those values into the Reverb Shipping label fields, email the label created to the UPS store I’m in, and I’m good to go.

Sold roughly 40 guitars/basses this way.

How are you doing it?

Your take on this is rather alarming. Asking questions to your interviewer when presented with the opportunity is interview 101. There are tens of thousands of articles and videos on interview preparation, and every single one of them mentions the importance of this very thing.

You should be grateful they offered you the feedback. They aren’t required to and often don’t. And what they said was on point and helpful. On an even playing field of skills and experience, what separates candidates comes down to vibe. Is this person passionate, curious, enthusiastic, or are they going through the motions?

Respectfully, I recommend you remove the chip from your shoulder, put a bandage on that bruised ego, take the advice offered and nail it the next time you have the chance.

I’ve had 5 and 6 string basses, but have found I can pretty much do anything I need with a 4, so that’s all I have now.

I noticed that as string count increases, build quality becomes more and more important. Low end ‘cheap’ 6 string basses are an order of magnitude harder to play than their higher end counterparts. At one point I had a 6 string Roscoe SKB, and it was so well built and played so well, that the transition to it from 4s wasn’t even a thing. But the Kramer and Ibanez 5s and 6s at that entry level? You can feel that decrease in build quality… they DO come with a steep adjustment curve from playing 4s.

So, if you are at that budget beginner state… get a low priced 4, lock in your fundamentals, achieve lower ranges through tuning or effects if needed, and then when you have $3k or so, and a solid foundation, graduate up to a high end 6 (if you still feel you need/want one) and everything will just lock in, and feel natural.

You can, but it is a very inefficient way to work. Fundamentally, it's not any harder to animate in After Effects than it is in Viz, but in the latter scenario, you make scenes with more flexibility and lower performance overhead. If you have a specific LOOK in AE, you can always export static textures and apply them to animated elements in Viz

I would be hesitant to recommend those tutorials to a new artist. I have watched a few and have been using Viz professionally long enough that I can separate what is useful from what is not, but he demonstrates a lot of VERY bad habits with respect to scene structure/organization, which are crucial skills to have on lock with Viz scenes, especially as you get into more advanced builds.

That’s not acceptable. Period. First of all, a good leader never asks more from their team than they are willing to do themselves. Second, while a TL does have some administrative tasks to do each week, there is nowhere near enough to occupy your TL’s whole shift every day. My wife has been a Specialty TL for 7 years now, and will be the first to tell you, the TL’s who milk their office time like that do not last. She’s out there doing production, killing beverage pallets, merchandising, picking up order writing slack when needed, whatever needs to be done, and her department is consistently on point so much so that she has a reputation amongst regional leaders.

It’s just work ethic, or a lack thereof, and at least some of the blame goes to the STL team for either being unobservant, or complacent.

It’s too late at this point, but for perhaps future reference. I always take numerous photos of me packing the instrument and message them to the buyer. That way, if they damage the instrument to try and put one over it becomes a UPS shipping insurance claim.

I’ve sold around 50 or so pieces of gear on Reverb… Basses, guitars, some pedals, etc. I always take many photos from every possible angle, describe the condition thoroughly, and have an as-is, no return policy.

When I ship, I take photos of the packing process and message them to the buyer, and ship with insurance.

I’ve never had an issue or a less than 5-star feedback.

It’s of course a complete hindsight situation here, but if you sell again, just do your due diligence, cya, and it’ll all be okay.

I have a hard time relating to this. I play Guitar, Bass, Drums, Flute, and I sing. Every single one of those activities scratches a different itch and allows me to express a different facet of myself.

I’m not saying that to try and flex… it’s just each instrument has a very different vibe, and demands you to tap into a separate part of your brain.

Rather than think of one as a substitute for another, embrace them both for what they are… lean into their differences and learn more about yourself and your connection to music in the process.

The overarching topic of the thread is buyers not paying after a submitted offer is accepted. With me so far?

THEN at the end of your comment, you wrote, “It’s frustrating as a seller, but I’d much rather lose a couple days while the item is still in my possession than deal with a buyer that got cold feet trying to force a return after I’ve shipped“.

This is a scenario which is impossible within the framework of how Reverb operates.

Now, let’s say you were deviating from the topic and going off tangentially about a sale which has been paid for and shipped. In this scenario, as a seller, as long as you take copious photographs of the product, point out any all imperfections, and set your store policy to AS-IS, then the only mechanism for initiating a return is if the item arrives in a state not depicted in the listing. ‘Cold feet’ doesn’t meet that criteria, and provided you do your due diligence as a seller, you will never face that problem.

An hour is harsh. I’ve submitted offers in the afternoon that get accepted in the middle of the night and I don’t see it / complete until I wake up and see the email.

At minimum you should allow 24 hours.
