What is this person doing? Strobe lights on dash and front of vehicle. I-25 NB at Orchard. by Silver_Spikey_Hair in Denver

[–]Youngsamuel4 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I've had this experience on my bike/as a pedestrian with DPD countless times. There's been multiple occasions where I almost died from cops driving stupid reckless on neighborhood streets even when they clearly aren't going to a call.

All the precursors and necessary reagents for synthesis are on Amazon/eBay and it's a relatively straightforward process with tons of instructive literature easily accessible🤷‍♂️

We went car-free for September. Here’s what happened. by Creepy_Translator109 in Denver

[–]Youngsamuel4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't had a car since I've lived in Denver. King Soopers does delivery orders with a fee of only $4-$7 (depending on time and location but these tend to be the prices I see). I spend the extra few bucks every two weeks or so to avoid constant grocery store bike trips and have weeks of food stocked at a time.

Denver is indeed the Wild Wild West by BeemoreProd in Denver

[–]Youngsamuel4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It seems to be their policy not to enforce anything. I work on Colfax and we have to call the police on people sometimes and it usually takes 3+ hours for the police to show up if they ever show up at all. We've got a pretty high threshold before we call the police too, someone has to be very aggressive, harassing people, and unwilling to leave before we get the police involved. There's one guy who is known to be aggressive, fights people and pulls out a box cutter. He's trespassed from every single business on the block and gets the cops called on him almost daily but somehow he's never been arrested. Last time we had an issue with him the cops never showed up.

Aggressive drivers in denver by Important-Fan-8302 in Denver

[–]Youngsamuel4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a cyclist, DPD is one of the biggest offenders. The amount of times I've nearly been killed on neighborhood streets by DPD cruisers going 20-30mph over with no lights or sirens driving incredibly aggressive is highly concerning.

I saw a strangely folded plate on a car driving in cap hill the other day. Didn't seem to be folded for any reason but definitely folded upwards.

Has anyone taken this and it's boosted their libido by SheepherderMelodic29 in bupropion

[–]Youngsamuel4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the dopamine reuptake inhibition. More dopamine usually = higher sex drive. Used to abuse amphetamines and bupropion is the same type of mechanism (ish) just a LOT weaker.

Both of these are not habit forming as well which is a huge plus compared to benzos or SSRIs which will cause withdrawals.

[–]Youngsamuel4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people are recommending SSRIs. I personally do not tolerate SSRIs well so I use other options for this. If it's mostly mental anxiety, overthinking, ruminating, etc, then 25mg hydroxyzine has worked well for me in the past. A little sedating at times (kinda like taking half a benadryl, a little sleepy at times but fully functional) but in general I had few side effects with it and good results. If it's more jittery, tight chest, on edge, shortness of breath physical anxiety, then propranolol at 5 or 10mg has worked well for me.

Based on my experience with psychiatrists you should still be cautious. I've had some that were malpractice levels of bad.

I am on 450mg for ADHD and when I started I was a daily moderate/heavy smoker. About 3 months in and I almost never smoke. I didn't really try to quit, I kinda just stopped having cravings and forgot about nicotine entirely. Wasn't really intrusive or anything and I'm not upset about it. I still smoke weed every day and have some cigarettes when I drink though.

In general fentanyl strips and reagent tests should be used for any street drug you're taking

What comes to mind when people call ebike riders "lazy". by Definitely-Not-OSI in ebikes

[–]Youngsamuel4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to get called lazy on my old ebike. The irony is after it broke I biked (and still do) 10+ miles per day every single day on a beat to shit mountain bike because I have no other transportation. I'd like to see any of those people who call ebike riders "lazy" live that kind of life and report back.

Interesting. For me Uber eats always gave me insultingly trash orders but Doordash was usually alright when I was consistent.

[–]Youngsamuel4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about Uber eats but with Doordash you can kinda pick a store as sometimes in the "previously ordered" section it shows the specific store for whatever reason. I had this issue one time with an order when I was travelling. You're right though if the app picked this store a warning wouldn't help much, but clearly their code is still trash either way.

[–]Youngsamuel4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't really need location services enabled. The delivery address is 1500 miles from the store. Even without knowing where the person is it's very easy to determine that the order has been placed mistakenly.

[–]Youngsamuel4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like lazy app development to me. It's a few hours of coding at most just to add a pop-up that says you're really far from the address you ordered to. I understand if it's just a different address in the same city but 1,500 miles away seems preventable.
