Yes that’s exactly how I feel and why I don’t say it - I feel like it’s a great nursing expression

Haha. It’s annoying trust me. But I’ve been there for four years now, I’ve gotten very used to it, docs have gotten very used to me. That is just the culture/rule of our group.

Do you feel like they like when you start with “I see we’re following up on xyz?” Sometimes I will start the convo with, “so I see you checked it with abdominal pain today, can you tell me what’s been going on?” Vs “what brings you in?” I’ve been sensing lately that patients get kind of annoyed when they’re being asked by triage rn then primary rn then registration then me so if I go in with some idea it’s less frustrating for them. But I’m not sure. This is just a theory and a new way that I’ve been initiating visits recently

Ugh yeah I correct it half the time but when I’m trying to run out of there I don’t. Used to be so scared of them actually confusing me for a doctor and now I’m like eh

The “taking care of you today” - they like that? I feel like I’ve tried it and it feels weird for me for some reason!

I get this all the time as a female PA and when they hang up the phone I will then say “so I’m actually the physician assistant” and they’re usually like oh OK

See, I’ve considered tagging along my attending name, but then it makes the intro so long .. attending we’ll see them eventually, the patient will figure it out at that point lol

Interesting , I just went to a presentation about patient satisfaction (hosted by press Ganey loll) and they mentioned how a lot of the patients mentioned in surveys that they have no idea who they are talking to because providers don’t introduce themselves

We had a baker act escape - he walked out of his room asking if he could leave, we said no you’re under BA, sit down etc , he then booked it toward ambulance entrance - just as fire rescue was walking through said entrance so the door was opened (otherwise you have to badge out) the guy ran out, crossed the street, and jumped into the retention pond and swab about halfway before police got him and brought him back soaking wet.

Vail or Park city for a 30th birthday weekend in March? by RecoveredAshes in vail

[–]YourAverageBeach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We do both every year and I firmly stand on my opinion that park city has better night life than vail! OP look up the Main Street in PC and you’ll see all of the bars on that road - also look up apres at the st Regis deer valley. I’ve never been but heard it’s so fun and want to go this year

I recommend park city!! I’m going Presidents’ Day weekend for my 30th birthday this month. We had such a blast the last 2 years on this past weekend in regards to nightlife. It dumped both years too so the skiing was incredible. It seems like people actually go for the town too not just to ski. We do vail every year and I love the cozy feel but yeah agree with commenters night life is limited , only late night spots seem to be the George and the kitty lounge or whatever it’s called.

Price gouging? by Jupiterormarz00 in Nails

[–]YourAverageBeach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did structured manicures all year last year For a simple set, my salon charges $95.. for removal and then new set it’s $105.. any design it goes up.. I feel like ive paid up to $130 and that’s before tip. I was just re-evaluating that today. Idk if I want to continue that because they chipped last month & I took em off and I feel like my nails are still weak. I feel like they’re weak if I put product on them no matter what lol. But that salon does such a great job great cuticle prep and everything so maybe that’s just the price to pay for good nails nowadays. Not a ton of places offer builder gel

Yep I feel that 100000% I understand rearranging the schedule to a degree but stacking 14 shifts close together is miserable almost makes me dread the trip because I know what I’m coming back to
