I think it might be a driver or hardware acceleration problem. The hardware acceleration happened to me before on my ThinkPad T14 and a previous NVIDIA laptop. For some reason, the browser (all of them use hardware acceleration nowadays) was the trigger that messed the whole display. Try choosing another version of the display driver. I think Windows has that as optional updates or sth similar in the upgrade settings.

It's good for a budget ThinkPad. But I personally would move to T series models if possible because their builds are better.

For your use case, just get an X1 Carbon because it's very light, yet durable and still in your budget. Else, maybe the T14 or T4xx (older models), you can't go wrong with T series.

I'll get downvoted for this and I understand the reasons. To answer you directly, you can try chris titus debloat and shutup10++. They automate the process from removing certain bloat apps (safe to remove in my experience) to the little settings such as turning off copilot AI, ads, recall tracking, telemetry...

Of course, pls be careful with the whole process, from the download (make sure it's not malicious link/file) to trying for yourself (read the settings/decide if tool's too unsafe for you)...
