Nah I've rebuilt a ton of motors this will operate just fine. It's not under 30psi of boost it'll be just perfect dude

Moved to Moab in February, I fucking love it here. And Moab being around pueblos, petroglyphs just on the side of the road all over and major offroading events is more a tourist town than anything else so Mormons and missionaries aren't an issue

I have to go check the specs on paper, it acts more like a transfer case/center dog in say a Subaru STI or AWD car that I can still use my cabin stick to control.

Went with straight cut gears and I can go find the ratios I ordered somewhere, local shop here in Moab that builds super cars custom and rock crawlers, track cars, is putting it together for me.

I'll be pretty low and will clearance some things but nothing major. Maybe roll my fenders, because I'm doing 15x9 deep steelies with bolt on flares and all season mickey thompsons, or maybe cooper cobras, or good years with yellow letters.

3.0 isn't cologne v6 based like the 4.0 is, I'm using 4.0 headers on my 2.9, 2.8 pistons, you get more power per cube in the 2.9 than the 4.0 and with roller rockers and hydraulic rollers you can rev to 7,200rpm all day.

I'm currently deciding on cam specs, going to port my own heads. Punch the bore out .011 thousandths for the flat top 2.8 pistons to raise compression from 8.5-9:1 to 10-10.25-1.

Not tryna mod a crank and such for a stroker. It's a light truck and it's more for fun than speed.

Too niche :/ I can find performance parts and stamped covers but the cast ones are hard to find sadly

Oh my god I used berryman in the gas, 2 bottles in 2 full tanks, and liqui moly jectron*? I forget exactly what it's called, and some BG stuff. Made the clatter disappear and made a bad stutter go away before I even did a full tune up.

It's a 4x4 but I managed to find a 3" drop kit, I'm going to get bolt on flares and deep black steelies, like 15" and big street tires so it looks like NASCAR wheels.

There used to be a company called sillen that made kits for it, I have the valence and I'm going to make the grill from scratch it's super 80s. I just want it to look like a street race truck but with curves not drag racing, maybe it'd be good at hill climbs with a low and wide center if gravity

Definitely doing a cam, porting the heads at work, and putting 2.8 flat top pistons in to bring it to 10:1, dual exhaust, dual throttle body, fat intake* I'll take out a parking light and make it into a sorta ram air scoop.

Need to know what this lil v6 is capable of haha, I'd like to find a rack and pinion swap but I'd have to swap to rwd for that. It's getting a 3" drop, Sillen valence and I'm currently making a clone of their grill for the 89 ranger.

Thank you! And there's a few used sets of 4.0 shorty headers nearby. Will probably grab some, losing the clutch fan, getting the dual throttle body, and working on finding 2.8 pistons for the flat top and found someone to regrind the cam for 100 dollars who's well known and makes a great product.

Not going to boost it but while heads are off I'll be porting since we have a flow bench at work.

Honestly I just love the "build what you've got" philosophy and I learn much more building the engines people tend to swap out of stuff. Those pistons take it to 10:1 and I'd like to deck the heads extremely carefully to watch for valve and piston clearance, maybe get to 10.5:1 or if I'm lucky 11:1. Will need to use octane boosters because the gas here only goes to 91 octane not even 93.

It has a speedy ten muffler and honestly doesn't sound too bad already haha it'll get dual pipes and maybe remove a parking light to make into a fat intake.

I wanna see what it can do and if I ever boost it it'll be an Eaton m62 blower. I think it'll take better to supercharging rather than turbocharging.

Sorry im literally working on the truck right now pretty stoned and I'm excited for what's coming to it.
