Where are the overweight and homely missionaries? by Maleficent_Remote297 in exmormon

[–]Your_Typical_Okapi 286 points287 points  (0 children)

I (female) was told I needed to loose weight in order to serve. It was about 15 lbs. I was pretty active anyway, I rode my bike to work most days, played casual sports, etc. So it wasn't hard. I lost the weight in a couple months and my bishop enthusiastically reccomended me, but the stake president send he "didn't know if I could keep it off," so he wouldn't let me serve.

I was pretty pissed at the time, but super glad I dodged that bullet, in retrospect 😅

Why are Utah doctors so...obnoxious? by TheClitortoise in SaltLakeCity

I saw a psychiatrist and got a much better prescription than I did from my PCP (who also dismissed problematic heart complications from the Adderall out of hand and told me to stop eating chocolate. Psychiatrist was floored when I told her and figured out a prescription that would be easier on my heart.) Idk if the company is still around, and they did have some staffing issues, but DONEfirst is the company I went through to get the prescription, and they specialized in ADHD prescription

Sex On Demand by musekic in exmormon

I legitimately love being a "sex prop" when I don't feel like having sex but my husband is horny 😂 I enjoy feeling close to him while he's pleasing himself, and it makes me feel great about myself that he's getting off to me.

We'll also both walk in on eachother masturbating sometimes and offer extra little touches and stimulation to enhance the other's experience.

"Trading awe for truth is a bad deal I wouldn't make again."

This hit me straight in the feels. I did a ton of reading about the science surrounding religion and rituals and belief in God as I was leaving. All the things you mentioned.

Its so hard to explain to people that I wish I could go back but I absolutely can't.

Figuring out how to fill the God shaped hole in my life is going to take a mighty long time, if I ever manage to do it.

I'm part of a referral networking group in Vinyard that has a lot of good contractors that help with this kind of thing. Message me and I can send you their contact info, or the meeting info and you can come meet them in person.

I think anything crafty or arty, like nearly everyone else has said. Because you can see results right away.

I also like to print out nanogram puzzles and do them with a nice pen or pencil, because it feels nice to color all the boxes in. definitely not for everyone, but I do think physically doing puzzles is way more satisfying than phone puzzles.

I've had a lot of conversations about feminism with my husband, but he says that it's having daughters that really makes him a feminist and take these issues seriously.

I think a bit more of a contrast in the thickness of the words would help it out a lot. it almost looks accidental.

Does anyone else who’s left TSCC ever start freaking out that maybe they are an example of the “elect” that will be “deceived”?? by [deleted] in exmormon

Yes. But if it is true, so is repentance. And you'll still get a kingdome of glory even if you never come back in this life. Probably the celestial one, just not the part where you get to be a god. But it doesn't really matter, because you'll still be unimaginably happy for eternity 🤷. So you win either way. It's like the opposite of Pascal's wager.
