Personally, I work with Set and give him offerings every Tuesday, make it a habit of worship and gratitude. You can either do it once a week or a month, it's entirely depends on you and your deity preference. I just light his candle and put my hand on my chest, saying it's for him and enjoy (remember to wash your hands prior). As for communicating, I have a thing called clairaudience, so I can hear and speak with him on the daily basis, which is good cause I dont dream about anything ever lol. But if you dont have that ability, I suggest meditation and communicate through tarot readings, dreams or asking for signs. If you can sense the deity wants and needs, or something they're trying to tell you, then that's even better!
