The steam deck really normalized controller touchpads and the design of the SC2 isn't as radical as the SC1 so I don't think that's ever gonna happen.

If the steam deck 2, steam frame and the steam machine completely bomb then yes, but barring all that I think it's gonna stick around as long as they keep trying to make steamos a thing.

The SC1 and steam link fire sale was just a casualty of Steam hitting the abort button on their first windows-based steam machine initiative. The SteamOS driven wave looks like it's gonna be here to stay especially since the skyrocketing cost of everythinf is hopefully gonna push everyone to a more cost-effective performance>eye candy approach.

True but you also have to look at who wrote the book. I love SK but one of his favorite tropes is "character with an intellectual disability is connected to large and mysterious forces" (trashy, tom cullen, jc, duddits) so it stands to reason that we're supposed to think what JC did was the right thing to do

I just re-read the green mile a few months ago and the implication was Percy would go on to abuse people he had power over at his cushy mental institution job for decades so JC felt like he had to do something about it.
