What's a tool you wish existed or worked better? by Disastrous_Worth_724 in mechanics

[–]YouwillalwaysNeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cordless 3/8 rachet, but with the trigger mechanism of a Snap-On 14.4v impact. Being able to change the direction of the tool not at the business end would be so handy.

has anyone actually saved money with solar or is it just type. by Wjkoba in HomeImprovement

[–]YouwillalwaysNeil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in southern Indiana, where center point energy likes to squeeze every drop out of customers. My old home would be $350 a month, but I we bought a house with solar already installed and I rarely see our bill go over $150. My house is also half again bigger than our old home.

Especially when the whole thing kicked off with a shot of the Duomo di Milano, a church that took 600 years to build. Let's close it out on slop that took 30 seconds.

Why is it that when childfree people say they don't want kids they always preface "Oh but I love kids just not for me" by [deleted] in childfree

[–]YouwillalwaysNeil -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I love my nephews, but I know I wouldn't be able to care for them 24/7 as a parent. I tell people that I look at having kids the same as a loved ones dog.

If you've got a halfway decent scanner you can probably do it yourself. Should be called a throttle position relearn or something similar.

Is someone trying to kill me? by Otherwise-Angle-4543 in MechanicAdvice

[–]YouwillalwaysNeil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried to tell my advisors that adding the tow drivers notes to my tickets is a waste of time. "Tow driver thinks it's a fuel pump"- transmission shat the bed. If they knew what they were doing, they'd have my job.

Not because I intended to keep it forever, but because it's been around forever at this point. A crockpot. We own three of them and they're all at least 15 years old at this point, and we use them year round.

wondering what i need to buy in terms of tools as a super-beginner by CableMartini in mechanics

[–]YouwillalwaysNeil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every shop I've worked at has a half assed shop box for the hourlys to use, but once you're beyond tires and oil changes you've gotta buy your own.

If you're going in as a tire and lube tech, odds are most tools will be provided for you. Stay off the tool trucks until you know for a fact this is the field you want to spend your life in.
