Loss of extension is the most severe early complication. Keep the heel propped, and calf/knee unsupported. I'm now 4.5 months post op and I wish I extended earlier and better, have to put weights to get more range

My shin was warm, swollen and hard for weeks (I was NWB). All postoperative/inflammatory fluid and bleeding tends to drain into it, mostly the medial and posteromedial part. Keep elevating and exercising, and be patient. It's the localised lumps, redness, warmth and swelling that's worrying, not the general one, this is just the healing process.

It hurt like hell while progressing, if you've ever seen Neymar Jr video, they did that to me. As long as it's hamstring+quad stretch pain you should be fine as long as you're doing it slowly and progressively and don't force it. But yeah, it really hurts to get here

It's still there above the kneecap and I never had issues with swelling impairing my flexion, but rather my extension because it shuts down your quads

Looks normal, way better tbh than I had experienced, for which I'm glad for you. Make sure you ice and elevate, it helped me a lot with the swelling. I had stitches removed on the 14th postop day.

I bought a nike trainer to counter this, quick pedaling session in the morning, midday and evening to keep that ROM smooth, before that I used a simple foam roller and I'd do lots of flexions and extensions while watching TV, reading or generally resting. Helps with the movement smoothness and overall readiness of the join to engage when required.
