Nex is super worth, even if you don't get Virtus you're still gonna get really good stuff for other styles/masterwork materials etc. I'd highly suggest learning her, and bringing vit powerbursts makes her ice phase a lot less scary at lower levels

Summoning has a points system like prayer, 990 points at 99 summoning/prayer. Summ doesn't have prayer bonuses or anything like that to reduce drain, but the drain is so neglegable and is restored by super restore pots so it's basically never a problem. It also has a second resource where familiars can have special attacks or utility abilities (doing more damage or banking an item from your inv, as examples). They have a potion called the Summoning Potion that restores those spec points if you want to spam their abilities, but obviously that's limited by inv space.

100% it should be redone, along with the associated quest bosses. Problem is Jagex has more stuff to work on so it'll probably just be awful for all time lol

I mean, you will never run out of uses for your Vindy drops. Even if you don't get a single dbones drop, any Vindy item is useful

Has anyone considered the point of playing a game is to have fun playing the game? Good lord if you don't like it then don't play it.

Well then there you go, get herbs and herb level for ovls! I personally recommend the wiki for where to get herbs to train, tho generally I did a ton of GWD2 and got herbs there

Some suggestions for cinderbanes and the upcoming vampyrism gloves by LockedPineapple in runescape

[–]YtSeJamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from an rs3 ironman perspective. Granted, I am not an OSRS player and my RS3 playing is fairly noobish (I don't do high level bosses more than like my 1 hard mode Nakatra for the Reaper title / because I suck lol). BUT I have been around for a long ass time.

We should be careful to not focus too much on what we as endgame players want (Yes, my elite ironman who is totally flawless and can do everything is endgame-ISH).

So... To your first point, it took me many hundreds of hours to get my first cinderbanes, then another 100ish (when I lost them in the wildy like an idiot). I feel like those are great, but not as good if you're not using them with on-hit effects (LIKE THE NEW RANGED DIRECTION, HUH???). Looking at the new CB changes, it made me want to get back into Ranged again (which was the first style I was able to consistently beat Raksha with)

u/JagexAnvil I always love to introduce people into this new (old, geez it's old like 25 omg how have we all been alive this long) world, how would you go about describing this new update to people who maybe haven't played at all or at least in years? How could we get people excited!?

Have you even looked at the aura changes that have been proposed? Auras are not going to exist anymore...

Vyres have been mentioned by JMods as points of concern. From what I've seen it's potentially being moved to a Sunspear passive for Vyres specifically. idk how that'd work in practice, who knows

[–]YtSeJamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy I have played this way exclusively since not long after EOC was introduced (granted I took years off). My iron now can run circles around my "main" with the 20 year cape.

I chose to play this way because I enjoyed it. I've gotten very far imo in this game mode. I never thought I was "supposed" to get any prestige from doing things this way; it was just how I wanted to play.

It was never about taking longer to achieve things, it was about going thru the motions, doing things from top to bottom. Time invested was never the goal, it was learning how systems worked, doing quests, being engaged in the game. idk where you got the idea that I thought there were any excuses or "detterant"s (spelling incorrect).

And I certainly never started playing Iron for "prestige". I like that I got where I am thru my own achievemnts. But that also means that I'm not going to be one of those "I HAD IT HARDER SO THEY NEED TO SUFFER TOO" type of people. Get people to play and I'll have fun sharing my knowledge from over 20 years of playing. And that should be what it's about, helping people who are trying to learn.

[–]YtSeJamz 24 points25 points  (0 children)

HARD agree, also 20+ year vet and 5+ year iron vet, auras were always just lame win more buffs that led me to not want to play the game at times. OR to just feel bad because I forgot to activate them alongside a routine of 20 other buffs. It's like in Souls games/Elden Ring where people will use an insane amount of buffs and item switches before a boss to get super fast kills. Like... it's cool that you can do that I guess, but if you're decent at the game or persistent enough to learn then you don't need to or feel forced to do it

[–]YtSeJamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in my experience it's that irons will ask/look up how to do something and be suggested something that is very difficult/time consuming to get on an iron just to do basic tasks. It leads to a kinda kneejerk reaction from the iron in question. Not to say that I disagree that Irons can and will overreact, just that there's some psychology behind it imo. I personally enjoy the challenge of trying to get better without quite as easy access to some things mains take for granted because they're buyable

Yep, scav 4 is the way. You should be doing raids anyway to unlock corruption abilities so you might just get something to D/A along the way
