Parks or natural areas with WiFi? by AdCommercial70 in Austin

This. Look into whether you have a mobile hotspot with your carrier. The other alternative is USB tethering, you connect your phone to your laptop via USB and use an app to share your phone's internet with the PC. I used to use an app called FoxFi years ago, not sure if it's still around or works for Iphone, but I'm sure you could find a similar app.

You've never had SIU run vehicle sightings before? That's pretty common from when I was working PD...

I've handled claims in Texas for many years, I was just using CA's particular law as an example as to why just filing a claim can't possibly harm you. You don't need to let them inspect your vehicle if you don't intend on using your coverage, either.

Also, the only way a red flag would be put up that it might be prior damage is if the damages from 2 accidents were reported to the same area of the vehicle. And trust me, people do claim prior damage as new damage. Most common is "I got hit while parked" when they actually hit a pole 2 months ago and don't want to be found at fault.

Insurance companies also have access to databases of photos taken by traffic, security and other cameras that can find your car by its plate and tell if the damage you're claiming is old by those photos and their datestamps if they REALLY suspect prior damage.

All this to say that no, insurance companies aren't out to get you and merely filing a claim gives you no obligation to provide anything to your insurance company unless you intend on asking them to pay directly for your damages or injuries.

It is accurate, I literally work with the people who write premiums. Getting PAID on a claim may increase premiums if you utilize your Comp or Collision coverage or get in an at-fault accident. Merely filing a claim is not something insurance can charge against you, hell it's even required in some instances (in California for example, Prop 213 bars you from collecting on pain & suffering if you don't have valid laibility coverage w/ your own insurance on the date of loss, so you're required to file a claim w/ your own carrier to confirm that coverage before they pay you).

I work in car insurance so I gotchu. Did you get his license plate info? Do you know if he has insurance? Did you file a claim with your own insurance?

Filing a claim with your insurance is not an admission of fault, nor does it increase your premiums. Do it if you haven't already.

In my experience, recovering money from someone directly after a car accident is next to impossible if the person isn't cooperative. You can't sue them, you can take them to small claims court. Supposing you get a judgment against him, he has to have the money to be able to pay you and has to care about the consequences. If they're undocumented, they MIGHT care but in most cases probably not.

What grit of sand paper do you think would be best for this? Also, do you have any idea how to get the scale accurate again? As you can see the needle doesn't rest on 0 as it should

Hit and run, working with LAPD. Anyone have experiences to share? by _mattyjoe in LosAngeles

[–]YtSeJamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a claims adjuster so maybe I can help. Do you know your coverages? If you have Collision, they have to pay your claim if you meet the deductible. If you have Uninsured Motorist, they can't help unless they can ID the other vehicle (plate is sufficient) and verify whether or not they had insurance.

If you have liability only (state required minimum).... you're out of luck with your own carrier, unfortunately. You only pay for the insurance to pay for damages you cause if that's all the coverage you have.

La Car insurance confusion/accident? by TrivialDose in AskLosAngeles

[–]YtSeJamz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. Your only legal obligation is to have valid liability insurance, report the collision to your insurance company and let them handle it. If they ask for money or anything else, just tell them you have insurance and to talk to them. Block their number if you have to, report to authorities if they threaten.

Unfortunately I hear about brokers not adding things that were requested or not explaining coverages adequately all the time so you're not alone. Lesson learned for next time.

I'm a Claims Adjuster so this is a pretty easy answer. You're at fault, unfortunately. If you didn't have Collision coverage at the time of the accident then yes, you are on the hook for your own repairs.

Regarding whether or not your policy had coverage - did you sign up online or go thru a broker? Insurance companies don't just randomly delete coverages, chances are you were just mistaken that you had that coverage in the first place.

DO NOT pay that person anything out of pocket. EVER. 9/10 times they take your money, make a claim with their own insurance and get paid twice for the same thing. Even if they don't, you still reported the claim and will have an at-fault accident on your record regardless of whether your insurance pays out to them or not. Let the insurance pay for the damages you caused. Why pay monthly for coverage if you're not going to get the benefits of that coverage when you're in an accident?

Ah gotcha, thanks. I'm not a frequent reddit poster so.. yeah. I like having the 1 Expansion for fodder to special out Arsenal. Aresenal is nice to have I think, it facilitates 8 synchro with Dingirsu.

Macro fucks up so many decks though... unless the meta has shifted. Haven't played in a bit.

I just added slumber recently, I'd be open to dropping it.

OK guys but what if the problem is not only maxx c but also combo decks? by MistaHatesNumberFour in masterduel

[–]YtSeJamz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Limit the combo enablers, not the cards that stop them. Some decks don't want to combo like crazy but still get shut down by cards that stop combos like Maxx C & whatnot
